And if you could scare the homeowners away, you'd have a real nice place there.

I love it when people "retire" here and get involved all over the place. We're better for it.

I could see doing that... just need to to the retire part (and then build the 5 million dollar 'retreat' - RP meetup and painting party!).

Seems like an interesting guy. It looks like the Pt. Hudson place is more of a loaner for non-profits. That explains why I've never seen anyone in/around the place.

And it's a lot more than a house. Plus, if the assessor adjusts the information (adding those 2 bedrooms, and 4 other bathrooms, for example) somebody might be in for some serious tax sticker shock. Although I guess at that level it doesn't matter - $1300/month to $3000/month - meh.

Still wondering who Mr. Edward D Edwards is, though.

Ah. This is who he is. He also has a cottage at Beckett Point.

The taxes aren't so bad, the assessed value is probably closer to reality. So in my mind that would put the purchase price closer to 2.5M$. And with the jobs/location ratio something just over 2M$. I guess you have to ask to see if anyone will pay it. But that's a lot of cash for a house anywhere.

It's assessed at $1.3 million. Current taxes are $16k. Actually, the assessor's information does not match the listing. It says 2 bedrooms, 3 baths, 5500 sf. And it's on about seven lots.

Yeah, we walk by that one on the way uptown via the secret weird path to Lincoln beach dr.  It's really amazing. For a while while they were building the place behind/below the doll house (at lincoln and Jackson) you could look over the top of this place. I think part of the roof over the pool retracts.

I hope to someday be the eccentric rich guy who blows all his money on a cool spot in Pete, but that day is not upon us just yet.

I have often wondered what this building is. Any of you who've been here recently, or who went on the whale tour, might remember this building as being across from the event parking lot. hobbitt and I could be very, very happy here. All we need is to find some elderly multi-millionaires who are lonely and near death.
