Radio Paradise

I bought this item as a Christmas gift for my parents, who love to sit outside, but typically do not do so in the late fall/winter time because it gets too cold. They used the gift very soon after I gave it to them. They have taken it out on the pontoon boat and kept the whole boat warm while fishing, but mostly they just use it out on the patio at night. My sister lives next door to my parents, and reports that they used it almost every cool/cold night to sit outside. She has also let me know that sometimes they drink too much wine, and they sit out there under the warm glow of the heater and serenade the night with music they grew up listening to. She is vowing to get revenge on me for this, as their state of inebriation is such that they are apparently singing loud enough to be heard through her closed windows. Aside from the bad juju being sent my way, it's a great product, especially on a good sale.

My health hasn't been the best lately and I've been very busy at work, so I think that she's being very prudent in learning how to deal with "final expenses" and take over the household finances and maintenance of the house and car. Yesterday another book arrived for her from Amazon: A Field Guide To Toxic Plants Of North America. I have such a thoughtful wife! And, please to be noticing that this is the SECOND EDITION.

The reviews are great and the title obviously got the interest it was supposed to. I do want to point out that my kayak coaching spent some time on the subject of how to cross shipping lanes. And then there is the story of a freighter showing up in Japan where they noticed a mast from a sailboat tangled in the anchor chain...
