Next Monday and Tuesday, lows will be in the mid-teens, with highs below freezing. In Austin. Got an inexpensive electric blanket for the clowder of semiferal cats we feed for just such an occasion.
Iâm at 1 degree latitude ATM. Monsoon season, pouring rain this morning. A pleasant but warm 80 out there so shorts and sandals.
A week ago, down parkas in snowy Japan. A month before that, beachwear in tropical Australia.
Had to pack for anything and will be glad to offload the winter wear in a few weeks. Spring/summer in Europe.
Donât hate me because Iâm jet laggedâ¦

After getting 16â of snow Sunday Iâm about to get hit with 3â of rain with 40-50 MPH winds and flooding is expected. Tried to clean part of the roof today before the rain.
I hope the power stays on.
Yup... A Level 2-3 risk of severe storms is in effect today along with a Wind Advisory. Cloudy, windy and milder with showers and storms likely with some of the rain heavy along with the potential for flooding. Highs in the lower-mid 60s. We have multiple severe threats possible today with damaging winds, flooding and tornadoes possible. As of right now the severe threat window runs from now through about 9 PM. The Wind Advisory is in effect through 10PM with sustained winds of 20-25 mph along with gusts perhaps as high as 45 mph. Be prepared for power loss as some of the trees could be pushed around in the strong winds and impact powerlines.
...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Southwest winds 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph for
the city of Casper and area highways. Gusts 60 to 75 mph
expected for the north face of Casper Mountain and higher
elevations.

We're getting high 70s in the day and dipping into the low 60s at night. Good sleeping, but I did need to close up the windows early this morning as the breeze was chilly. A few clouds here and there, and WHALES if you look to the west for any length of time. First cetaceans of the season spotted yesterday.

Pouring rain isn't what we usually get for Christmas in my part of Australia. I'd build a fire except I moved all the wood away from the house for bushfire season. This would have been a good year to roast a turkey instead of the traditional cold Christmas lunch.
