I noticed everyone talking that way when I moved here, too. Some cases are understandable, but then there's some where it's totally unnecessary:

Me: Where is the library?

Portlandian: Soooo, at the corner of __ and __ there's a brick building? That's the library.

 

Before long, I found MYSELF starting to do it. It's contagious.

 

 

EDIT: People at work use it as a way to interrupt interject things in meetings. Before someone's done talking, they start going, "Ssssssssssss....." (getting ready to start their statement with "so")

The journals were my introduction/way in to the RP community. Will they be archived or should I save some of them I wonder.

For me the journals were a place to be personal and vulnerable. And to seek support that I wasn't getting IRL. I was grateful for that space.

 I used to do an online journal back in 1995/1996. Since then I've watched the Blog phenomenon grow - all the while thinking, "hey, I really ought to get back into that". However, I've been just a wee bit busy with this other fast-growing phenomenon known as Radio Paradise and I've never gotten around to it. Now DaWiz has made it so easy that I don't have any excuse, so here I am. You can expect periodic ramblings on RP, radio in general, politics, modern life, movies, books, gadgets, travel, and whatever else is on my mind. I doubt that I'll be one of those compulsive daily bloggers/journalers - but I'll try to check in here fairly regularly. Of all the features of the new site, this is probably the one that I'm most excited about. The RP community is filled with talented, thoughtful writers - possessing a delightful diverse range of viewpoints - and I'm looking forward to providing them with an easy-to-use platform to present thier thoughts & opinions, and to reading what they have to say.

I want them. I've cried for help there. I've thought about doing it again from time to time, but I haven't gathered the words or the courage. 

I was able to answer a cry for help there recently that I wouldn't have seen, most likely, if it had been in the forums.

Still.  Whatever.  The world turns, I guess.
