I think that's a reasonable concern. I like to imagine in the long term this ruckus will blow over, but it may require a sea change in some workplaces. Men should be more aware of the impact of crude gestures, but at the same time women should understand that 'ball-busting' is a time-honored way men talk with each other. Not the so-called 'locker-room talk' that demeans women, but the day-to-day barbs and quips of many workplaces.

My ex is an engineer, she was one of three management-level women among a construction staff of over 1600. I found her a pink hardhat to wear on site: might as well own it, right?
A little friendly banter was no big deal, it was a construction site after all: snowflakes need not apply. However her boss, also a woman, personally fired several guys for repeated 'inappropriate gestures'. Particularly one poor idiot who used Spanish for his catcalls: she instructed him, in perfect Spanish, to hand over his badge on the spot. Security walked him out. Oops. Always know your audience...

This Moment Isn’t (Just) About Sex. It’s Really About Work.

It would be easy — a hard kind of easy — to understand the painful news happening all around us to be about sexual assault. After all, for weeks now, each day has brought fresh, lurid tales. And if our typically prurient American interests have led us to focus on the carnal nitty-gritty, the degree of sexual harm sustained, the vital questions of consent, that’s fair enough; there has been, we are really absorbing for the first time, a hell of a lot of sexual damage done.

But in the midst of our great national calculus, in which we are determining what punishments fit which sexual crimes, it’s possible that we’re missing the bigger picture altogether: that this is not, at its heart, about sex at all — or at least not wholly. What it’s really about is work, and women’s equality in the workplace, and more broadly, about the rot at the core of our power structures that makes it harder for women to do work because the whole thing is tipped toward men.

Time magazine has named "The Silence Breakers," representing people who came forward to report sexual misconduct, as its Person of the Year.

Re: the recent watershed of sexual misconduct allegations.

I'm starting to see a pattern in that when the man in question is even remotely on the liberal spectrum, he admits his wrongdoing and makes an attempt at apologizing. If he is conservative, he denies that it ever occurred. Interesting.

Isn't it about time we had a coastal (non-NY) president/candidate?  There are a lot of people (39%+) that live in counties that border the salt water (yes, including NY), and you have to go back to Reagan to find a pres from there.... well Bush, sort of, again NE influence (and I guess Texas technically, but I think of that more as 'heartland').... I need to work on these definitions.

eventually, the Defenders will have some doubts. But then again, if Moore is still around, and Trump is still around, and anyone who just denies this stuff is okay to be in the senate and the white house, well I'm going to tell my kids to start jackin' up banks and never, ever, say anything but a flat out denial.

The worrisome part to me is that it seems only the Republicans have figured this out. I have a pretty good record of not liking either party, but wanting a healthy opposition. If the Dems get run out for admitting their crimes while the party feels righteous in upholding their ideals, then you'll just be left with a bunch of laughing Republicans who will continue to deny and deflect while trashing the place.

It's going to take a while to rebuild what has already been sullied, some on the opposition party better figure some stuff out before next november.
