Republicans had ample opportunity to fix this problem under Trump I. They could have taken a big step forward with the bill that Biden hammered out with Republican senators but Trump told them not to pass it.
The GOP has been enjoying this "immigrant crisis" for years and it's paid off for them handsomely, economically and politically. Let's see how keen Trump is on mass deportation when big employers realize their cheap labor is going to disappear.

Up to 75% of the total when you add "documented"...but I'm sure a few of them will accidentally get caught up in the deportations. People thought food was expensive now...wait until nobody will pick the crops and those that do will be making double.
