Bought a turkey breast roast thing but will wait for the weekend to cook it. Turkey starts showing up in the supermarkets around this time of year. But Christmas is usually too stinking hot to turn on the oven and Canadian Thanksgiving is too early. American Thanksgiving is just right, like Goldilocks' porridge. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

Wishing a happy Thanksgiving weekend to all RP peeps in the US of A!

Over here, we celebrated Thanksgiving this year on October 1, already. It is not our major holiday, like it is yours'. - Here, the "holiest" day of the year is Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), at least as perceived by the people (with gifts for kids and everyone to join the party), although the churches (Catholic and Protestant) proclaim Easter Sunday as "holiest" of holy days of the year. Kids receive "less 'n smaller" presents, then. - I guess, somehow we all learn what is "really important".

Interesting... I still remember the one and only Thanksgiving dinner, I was invited to by a friend as a stranger in the US very fondly! It was all we could (ever) eat and pies as dessert that were closest to having "it"... not mentioning drinks or other potential "contraband" involved. So, again from my end, Happy Thanksgiving to One and All!

My daughter-in-law and her mom are doing the cooking since we're visiting, which is nice. I imagine I'll have to liven up the dinner table by telling them about my days in the bush and Jose Grecos del Muertos - the Flamenco Dancers of Death. Sadly, there was little we could do about them because of the Guacamole Act of 1917.
