In a strange way, it was a very intimate show, which you might not expect with a 46 piece orchestra playing. Rhythm of the Heat, Biko and Solsbury Hill were definite standouts.

amazing! same set list primarily as on his FB page from Berkely. The orchestra was outstanding (music arranged by John Metcalfe and conducted by Ben Foster). His daughter was singing back up (he never introduced her, but... it was her). You could tell it was only the second show of the tour, they had a few mixing issues but got it fixed by the third song. And of course you can't be unmoved by Biko or Solsbury Hill no matter what instrumentation is used.

My fav song of the evening "Rhythm of the Heat". Boy in the Bubble was pretty good, but I think P. Simon is an AMAZING songwriter. The graphics worked well once the sun went down. He still can wail up a storm!!!! Blood of Eden was in my head as I walked out. Not a big fan of the closing tune... he should change that one up.

all in all worth the price of the ticket.

Review, please! I skipped buying tix for the Berkeley show because it seemed cringeworthy to see him drag out the oldies with an orchestra. Levin/Fast/et al were a big part of the reason that I love his early work.

The sun has dispersed the cloud cover a bit, things are warming up a bit. Hopefully we will see the moon while up on the hill watching PG tonight!!!
