The Tom Baker Dr. Who was the only one for a long time on Dutch TV. When the show was cancelled here I thought it was because people here didn't like it. It was only recently I found out that parents petitioned against the show because it was "too scary for kids"... I was one of those kids, and I LOVED it... and was scared, yeah, but that was part of the fun :sadface:

They're advertising Sat. the 23rd as the start of the new season on BBC America. I'm looking forward to it!

New series starts on the 26th April. From the trailers it looks interesting.

If you get a chance, check out the special that was part of Comic Relief. It raises some serious issues about the glass floor in the Tardis.

Yeah, I could have put this in Celebrity Deaths, but... ya know... Dr. Who and Crew are way beyond mere celebrity.

Watching it on Bittorrent is out of the question for me as I am a Comcast subscriber.  They don't even get BBCA in hi-def.

Well the "plot" of this ep was pretty much in the back seat to introducing the new Doctor, companion, TARDIS and setting up the underlying, season-long, story arc that has been part of the 'new' series formula since "Rose".

And I loved "Basically... Run."

New episode was...OK.  I think the new Dr will grow on me, but not hugely impressed with the material he was given to work with.  Can we stop raising the ante with the threat level etc and go back to great plot lines.  The episodes that had nothing to do with saving earth from whatever were some of the best eg; 7. 42 (on the spaceship with a self-destruct), Blink (the scary crying angels), Midnight (when the Dr was trapped on a train thing with a mind controlling alien)....we need more of them and less ARGH planet Argh aliens, explode explode, sonic screwdriver, dubious technology words, its all ok.

How are you watching Dr. Who, on a PBS station? The only thing I have is the pod-casts. I use to get it on the NH PBS station which I can no longer receive.
