Well, it's time to get off my ass again.  I've been laying back (i.e., "busy" as they say) for the last year but its time to get involved again.  The President has shown his cards and is kicking it into high gear and the mid-terms are around the corner.  Time to call the state Democratic Party and let them know I'm ready to get back on the street.  In the 2008 election we took our caucas, my district and county (one of the heavist Republican countys in Colorado), the city, and the (formerly red) state.  The usual suspects are revving up the challenges so it's back to phone banks, stuffing envelopes, and pounding the pavement door-to-door.

So come on, guys, pick up the phone and join the fun.  The message this time out is Yes We Are and after that Yes We Did.

Or alternatively, we can sit around here and what....virtually change the world?

Thank you for your participation!

Meet Rep.Hank Johnson, Ga.(D)

From his House website :

In two terms as U.S. Representative for Georgia's Fourth Congressional District, Congressman Hank Johnson has distinguished himself as a substantive, hard-working legislator who delivers results.

A member of the Armed Services and Judiciary Committees, he Chairs the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts and Competition Policy that is responsible for antitrust legislation and oversees administration of the federal courts.

After only one term in office, he was elected by his colleagues to serve in the House Leadership as Southeast Regional Whip.  In that capacity, he has played a key role in garnering support for key priorities such as health care reform, the Recovery Act, and legislation to reduce carbon emissions to slow climate change. One of the earliest congressional supporters of President Barack Obama, Rep. Johnson served as co-Chair of the Obama Campaign in Georgia.

...

Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. Johnson served twelve (12) years as a DeKalb County magistrate judge, five (5) years as a county commissioner and three (3) years as chair of the DeKalb County Budget Committee.

Rep. Johnson practiced civil and criminal law in DeKalb County for twenty-seven (27) years. A staunch supporter of public education, he is a graduate of  the District of Columbia Public Schools, Clark College in Atlanta and the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.

Now hear Rep.Johnson in his capacity as a member of the Armed Services Committee,

This future Georgia resident does not sleep well with this footage. Seeing idiots like him not only be an elected member of congress, but somehow get through any college much less law school and interviews from protesters from both sides on the streets display dizzying arrays of ignorance makes you more than a little concerned about the education system and lack of discipline totally ingrained in modern American culture. Not only is our education system lacking and possibly corrupt, but perhaps more importantly, our youth are running wild without direction due to a collapse in the family structure, abandonment of personal responsibility and yes moral degradation. Not in a religious sense, in the sense of character and how we treat one another, a desire to achieve independence, honor and respect on a personal level. We must be better parents and children, respect others ethnicity and point of view and then and only then can we expect to make any progress reconciling the needs of the unfortunate while making sure that we do it in such a manner that also realizes that we as citizens must do our part to help ourselves not end up being in an unfortunate situation in the first place vis-a-vis personal responsibility for one's own actions.

Edit: I was just informed that the Representative was using extreme dry wit in his question. Makes me feel better, but still does not change the bigger picture. Although the Representative should be more aware that he had better be more clear in his delivery in this day and age of instant communication.{#Stop}
