As Democrats are filling their ranks with CIA and the woke, Republicans are starting to fill theirs with black people, black men in particular who are feeling more and more alienated with the new breed of woke. No fan of identity politics, but if conservatives are represented politically with more and more pocs than maybe we can start to have political dialogue of those in power based more on policy and solving problems instead of being mired in identity. Fighting fire with fire to put out the fire so to speak.
On 3 July, Jen Psaki, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, acknowledged that the U.S. had been "in contact with a range of countries across the world who had any chance of having Mr. Snowden land or even transit through their countries."

To get a grasp of how deep this problem goes watch to the end of the video. They start out outraged over the outrage at someone exposing an obvious truth: that our political class cares about nothing but staying in power, and policy is seen thru that lens only. No one in power cares how that policy affects the people paying for it and living under it, they just care about it as a vehicle to power.
I can't absolve Bernie of this either; he's neck deep in the problem, contributing to it while he complains about it...but I digress.
Then at the end of the discussion it's back to...strategy, how to win elections. How to maneuver so that their political tribe come out on top. Good thing they have makeup that doesn't run from crocodile tears.
Well, there's the rub. Even someone wanting to work in other's best interest has to win and that either means compromise or marketing yourself as the renegade that is going to keep the rest of them in check. In any case, it is a broad-brush leap to "No one in power cares how that policy affects the people paying for it and living under it." Ultimately all politicians get their positions from a world view of the "right" thing even if they ultimately ignore it to keep and monetise their power.
