Got something booked, yeah. There was a mountain lodge near there but we figured being nearer some sort of restaurant would work out better. Wanted to stay in Waterton but their cheaper stuff is already booked.
You should spend more than one night in Banff ... pretty area. If you're travelling Hwy 1 to Calgary then on to Cardston, definitely plan a stop in Canmore on your way out of the park.
Way up? pffft. That's nothing. We travel to Calgary regularly - a three hour trip. Add another hour for Banff.
I know, it's a long trip to the ocean tho, and we'll have Mother in Law along too... so 5 nights on the road is going to be... enough.
Actually, it's a REALLY good time to come north of the border for a visit. Your 'Merican greenbacks go pretty far, what with the current discount in the exchange rate! Tourism is in fact way up. :-)
We're on our way this summer... blasting thru: 1 nite in Revelstoke, 1 Banff, 1 Cardston, then back to Terra Usa. One day we'll just drive north. Jesus you're way up there.
