This song was on a mix tape (oops, I mean Various Artists) I bought back in about 1983 or 4. One of the other songs was The Stranglers' "Nice and Sleazy." I wish I could get my hands on that compilation again. I can't remember its name, but I bought it on cassette at National Record Mart (RIP) at South Hills Village mall, south (duh) of Pittsburgh.. Not that that matters.

Because you're a musician and an entertainer! Your job is to entertain people. An entertainer should not blend in with the crowd. The crowd should always be looking at the entertainer. If you wanna look normal, do sessions!
I said "What the hell do I wear to this gig?"
My stepdad replied "Just look better than they do". And I try at every show (although not as hard as I used to).
Better may mean tux, it may mean pink and white - but stand out. I still wear my cowboy hat, my backwards cap (paying homage (sp?) to Anton Fig), weird shoes...whatever. I still even occasionally wear guyliner onstage. And I'm not getting any younger!
Never feel bad about a stage outfit...unless it "malfunctions"! We wore some AWFUL stuff back when, but it was back when and we looked cool doing it.
