There are a lot factors involved but the most common form of color blindness is sex linked. Having a spare copy of a gene makes a world of difference for a lot things like hemophilia for instance. There's not a whole lot on your Y chromosome other the the stuff it takes to turn you male. It's probably one of the reasons we don't live as long.

I was staring at the bars too long sometimes and almost getting that "Magic Eye" thing going on; I should have taken some eye breaks or blinked a little.
