It's very helpful to post bug reports in the bug reports topic rather than starting a new topic for your specific complaint.
While this is sure good to know for all the newcomers it would be even better for them to have a mailbox sorta thing to make it easier for them, not harder. The form of this listener-forum always has been a non-starter as topics race or flow by, depending on the number of postings made. Moving on from a past, Journals were discontinued. A forum, uhm. Yes was kept.
I'd gladly be your AI assistant on such things. Offering my advice for free here.
No structure, no visible aid. Only an apocryph search function......... which isn't exactly a
What-can-we-do-for-youâmailbox, or website button while subsisting on donations as it seems.
What's going on Bill?
Helpless, helpless, he-helpless..?
PM me, I have some ideas for you!

The new app: RP -> RIP
No response at all for weeks now by RP.
There have been responses, but not in any organized fashion. Part of that is due to the fact that posts on this subject are scattered across a dozen different topics. It's very helpful to post bug reports in the bug reports topic rather than starting a new topic for your specific complaint.
Our developer is working on a new update that should address all of the major issues — including CarPlay.
I'd like to apologize for our decision to release the new app prematurely. I regret that very much.
What is their response? How difficult could it be to restore the old app?
This goes beyond pissing off a handful of supporters. I can't recommend Radio Paradise to anyone until they get this sorted out. It looks like they have a whole office full of people running the show now, with predictable results.
I can still install the new app from any playstore / appstore.
I can't install the old version.
Would you be so kind as to post download links for the 8.x versions (iOS & Android) from one of your servers please?
I remember Jarro did something similar many years ago by providing download-links of an older iOS & Android app version. It took place around the shift from the legacy-website to the current design.
Keeping app-versions to download could be some kind of customer-service & care, for the future at least, if I were you. Easily done on any webserver...
I support his. Having the old app for android back would be so nice! Please Wiliam, help us enjoy Radio paradise as it is meant to be!

I am afraid that your blind faith in the management at RP is not well supported by our collective recent experience. No-one called for the app to be replaced- as far as I was personally concerned it met its purpose really well. No-one called for the AirPlay functionality to be removed either, but both of these changes were foisted on us all, and the replacement app falls vastly short of the old app in functionality, usability, and aesthetics. That experience doesnât contribute to confidence in the management, hence the outcry.
Conversely to your claim that itâs ânot all about youâ (meaning the people who are upset about these arbitrarily applied retrograde changes), itâs not all about you either. You can accept the changes and be happy about them if you want, but donât try and take away other peopleâs right to be upset about them. People who are complaining may only be speaking for themselves, but that point is not sufficient to be able to claim that others donât also hold the same view.
Please give us another couple of weeks to sort this out.
The rollout of the app has been paused and weâre exploring ways to restore CarPlay functionality.
Yes, please make this a priority, and it would be highly preferable to make the old version available until you can fix it.
Issues I have discovered so far:
-The app logs me out all the time, so I can't rate anything, etc.
-Even when logged in, it's difficult to rate songs (or even see my previous ratings) when driving.
-Downloaded cache doesn't auto-refresh when used up.
-Downloaded cache starts over from the beginning when playback stops for any reason, even if I take care to keep the app open until I want to start playing it again.
-It's not easy to navigate to the cache and play it. Why not make that the default, if I select a channel? Or at least make it really easy to choose?
-I understand you think CarPlay is a bad idea, but I'm obviously not the only one here who uses RP while driving. What about this compromise: an option to keep the app open/phone awake, especially if plugged into a charger?
I support RP and I don't want to give up on it, but this new app needs a lot of work until it will be anywhere near as useful as the old one, especially in the car.
That's ridin' in on a high horse, buddy. Or not? - I myself don't need it. But the many voices going unheard on this forum, to me shows a lack of customer relationship management (CRM).

Take what time you need, William. 9.0.1 got me back up & running on CarPlay well enough for now. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

But how can we get the old app back? My android devices are all on the new versions and it is so ugly and stripped!
Can you restore the old app to the Play store please!
I have not used Radio Paradise since the removal of CarPlay functionality. Tidal is now my in car listening app. I am not contributing until CarPlay returns. My pledge for an initial $100 contribution when CarPlay returns still stands.
I agree. The new app is a real disappointment. Fortunately I only updated the app on my iPad, so I can still access the old app on my phone - and therefore in my car. I registered an issue with RP directly the other day because I was not able to access the âMy Paradiseâ mix. That was fixed quickly. So good news, or so I thought. Now I canât access this mix through the old app anymore⦠agghhhh!

I expect there's a nice podcast out there that'll give me good music.
Grumpy old man shouts at cloud.
And the new app is so poor in comparison to the old one. The change makes no sense to me - why would you scrap something good and replace it with something that is rubbish?
The dissembling statement that getting rid of CarPlay support is being done to avoid âvendor lock-inâ is such a weak justification for a move that has only negative effects on listeners. What has gone wrong with the people who run RP?
It is simply not acceptable to force people to use their phone in the car to start music playing - it is not safe and certainly in the UK it is absolutely illegal. To suggest that it is âmore music everywhereâ is laughable.
I am with great regret ending my monthly contributions to RP.
