I look forward to your criticisms of trump when the number jump up again.
I stand corrected. The 50 per day was at specific places such as Del Rio, Texas. I knew that I heard the number but forgot it was location specific.
Still a huge improvement nonetheless.
Of course this is also partly from his policies that have limited access to tools immigrants use to legitimately seek entry. So we are continuing to alienate our allies, an turn our back on our history of being a country that welcomes immigrants and is a haven for those seeking respite from violence and oppression.
No inflation was not my primary issue. It is and always has been securing the border. I guess you only listen to what yourself says about others.

You might want to go back to this thread that I started 15 years ago, July 6, 2010 to be precise and do some reading, starting at the oldest. I have said longer than Trump, "no borders, no country".

We (and others) went round and round most recently over the alleged "bi partisan" border bill you might recall. You wanted to pass the bill which among other things codified allowing 5000 illegal border crossings per day. You and the rest wanted to make that the law of the land. You said that a bad bill in this case is better than no bill, IIRC. That the only way to secure the border was through an act of Congress and that this bill was necessary to do that.
.
Well here we are. Trump has effectively closed the border to illegal entry within a few short days after taking office with the daily average now well under 50 per day the last I saw. Down from the thousands and thousands per day. You are on record willing to settle to keeping it down to 5000 per day. What we have seen is Trump doing it and without any acts of Congress, doing it within his legal authority as POTUS and using long standing laws already on the books. Once again, you believed the same liars who lied about everything Biden and told you that we needed an act of Congress to secure the border. They conflated border security with immigration reform and you bought it, hook, line and sinker as you always do with their lies.
.
This alone 100% proves that Biden deliberately opened the border and allowing what has been measured as up to 21 million illegal immigrants to enter the country during the past 4 years and to subsidize their presence with federal dollars, taking those dollars away from US citizens, putting foreign criminals ahead of US citizens. Yet you still support what Biden has done.
.
We didn't need an act of Congress to secure the border, we just needed a new POTUS.

So, promise made, promise kept.

OBTW, regarding prices and inflation, I paid $2.59 for gas last week and I will be filling up again later today for $2.54

So tell us... how's Trump doing so far? Are you happy with the cost of things? Inflation was your issue... yet your boy is in the process of single-handedly causing a recession. Tell us how you think he's doing in these first 100 days.

No one is looking for a pass, nor is one required. Keep beating that dead horse though if it floats your boat. I know that you need something to try to hang your hat on and deflect from the craziness that is currently engulfing us.
Isn't it about that time that you announce your exit from this thread?
You do not get a pass and get to pretend your judgment is sound regarding everything related then and now.

The "sentiment" from Kurt that started the discussion about space, and safety, etc...
Calling out Biden for not rescuing the astronauts for political reasons...
Here is an article about today's launch...the returning astronauts... and the reality of their extended stay in space. It's far more boring than the Republicans want everyone to believe. All of the theatrics and conspiracy are invented so that "the believers" can stay angry, ensuring their emotional connection to the movement even when confronted with reality, facts, and the possibility that numerous people made good decisions for the right reasons, making the most of a bad situation.
Will Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore be rescued after getting stranded in orbit?
Sort of.
Not really.
The spacecraft that will bring back Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore has been docked at the space station since late September and could have returned to Earth at any time.
Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore launched to the space station in June last year for a test flight of Starliner, an astronaut capsule built under a NASA contract by Boeing. Because of propulsion problems, NASA officials decided that Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore would not return to Earth in Starliner. In early September, the spacecraft undocked from the space station, re entered the atmosphere and landed in New Mexico without any problems.
Just as when an airline scrambles to rebook passengers after a flight is canceled, NASA had to find seats on a ride home for Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore.
The next spaceflight was Crew-9, which lifted off a couple of weeks after Starliner left the space station without anyone aboard. Two astronauts assigned to the flight were bumped off, leaving two seats in the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule for Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore on the return trip.
Thus, the Crew-9 capsule could have brought back the two astronauts any time after that, but that would have left the space station understaffed, affecting scientific experiments, operations and maintenance.
NASA and SpaceX could have rushed the Crew-10 mission to launch earlier, but NASA officials decided it was best for Ms. Williams and Mr. Wilmore to join the space station crew and keep the planned schedule for Crew-10.
What have the astronauts said about their extended stay?
In an interview last month, Michael Barbaro, the host of "The Daily," asked the astronauts, "So, if not stuck, exactly how do you describe this scenario you find yourselves in?"
"That's a great question," Mr. Wilmore said. "I would say it's work. It's wonderful enjoyment. It's been fun. It's been trying at times, no doubt. But stranded? No. Stuck? No. Abandoned? No."
This was the third trip to space for both Ms. Williams, 59, and Mr. Wilmore, 62, and they realize it might be their last one. "We're heading home," Ms. Williams said. "And it makes you really want to enjoy every bit of your time that you have up here."
Love how you conflate driving cars with space flight. They are not quite the same thing.
That I have to mention that says volumes. But then again, you were completely fooled about Biden's health until the 2024 election debates got underway. And then it took a month or so before you would acknowledge it was not a cold or "just a bad day." That makes your carefully programed confusion understandable. But not excusable.
Scroll down.... you said "I'd rather fly with Musk than NASA". You made this about him, not SpaceX.
You are saying that you'd trust him with your life, yet in his car company has documented history of him making incredibly poor decisions, to save money. If you wanna talk about him.... it's relevant. His history is not one of safety, and your comparison to NASA's "deaths in space flight" is a foolish argument. It's like saying "I won't cruise on a Portuguese ship, given the number of explorers that died in the age of discovery". SpaceX, and arguably a lot of what Musk has built is a result of NASA... discoveries and failure.
You keep riding this "you were all fooled" bandwagon about Biden. I've said repeatedly I would vote for a head in a jar before Trump. Being against Trump doesn't mean people supported and defended Biden. Last thought on Biden...you gotta make up your mind...was he pulling all the strings or a puppet who couldn't wipe his own ass? Depending on the discussion...you position him as both. You gotta move on.
For the record, we do agree that the age argument against Trump is false. I don't think he's showing material signs of aging... this is the final act of his narcissistic, half-baked, and often unsuccessful business practices on "the big stage". In fairness... his thoughts and words are so "ad hoc" and isolated from both reality and everything else he's ever said that measuring a decline is going to be nearly impossible. For his age, he's doing well. The 80s are incredibly rough years for anyone, and I would be shocked if he's not exhibiting signs of serious decline before this term is up. My guess is he's going to hit a wall hard. I would not be surprised if doesn't finish this term. Father Time remains undefeated, and Donnie's lifestyle, fitness, and overall size are all issues he can't outrun.
So tell us... how's Trump doing so far? Are you happy with the cost of things? Inflation was your issue... yet your boy is in the process of single-handedly causing a recession. Tell us how you think he's doing in these first 100 days.
Every last one of you regular posters denied Biden's obvious decline and attacked everyone of us who said otherwise.
You do not get a pass and get to pretend your judgment is sound regarding everything related then and now.
You all still believe the parties involved who promulgated this lunacy and are telling you how to think about what is going on presently.
You really think that the liars have stopped lying to you ? Obviously not because you still believe that they never lied to you in the first place.
You still take their orders and promote their talking points and defend them without question.
You can question my judgement all you want and I will question yours as well.
While you all have a super majority here, out there in the real world, you are an increasingly small minority whose refusal to acknowledge your past lapses is only making you less relevant and even less credible.
Who is your leader ? You cannot tell me. Your "leaders" cannot even define what a woman is.
You have lost your way. Yet you still believe that you have all the facts and are right about everything you put forth.
While it still works here, it ain't working out there anymore. .

So what about trump's decline? He was born the same year as George Bush and Bill Clinton. He's got some miles on him now.
also, what happened to "day 1", "only he can fix it" etc.? You parroted that crap were you duped and he wasn't serious or were you both just wrong? Which answer do you think justifies what is going on (hint - it's a trick question).
