Trump had one job. Split NATO and do as much damage to the western economy as he could to weaken and divide the west so that Russia could fill the gaps and restore its "rightful" (gag) place in history.
On that metric, he's done a pretty good job.
1) Nullified US soft power (which was extensive)
2) Pissed off virtually all NATO allies
3) Destroyed the trust on which the alliance is based
4) Removed most real talent from the armed forces in favor of his lackeys and yes-men
same holds true for other arms of government
5) Shot through years of armament stockpiles in a very questionable war
6) Put renewable energies back years and scorched environmental rights
7) Aided and abetted Russia at all turns on the international stage
8) Denied all aid to Ukraine and tried to force them to surrender on multiple occasions
9) Stoked division and distrust back home in the US
10) Introduced wanton tariffs that have impacted free trade and notched global GDP down a few points and counting
11) Played the markets to enrich himself and his cronies on every policy turn or public announcement..
12) By doing so, kept the price of oil high
I could go on..
Whether or not people think he did so willingly as an active agent of Russia or merely because this mobster boys club share the same values and goals remains moot or it is all just some amazing coincidence .. I really have no more x to give. The fact is, he has done it.
Entirely worth it for removing 450,000 legal and illegal (29%) people from the US. They were draining all of our resources.

China is likely to be the biggest winner in this. Russia would have been okay if they hadn't started a disastrous war. At least donny boy appears to have observed that a multi-year incursion isn't a good thing, so he's appropriately panicked and looking for an exit a few months in.
I don't understand the desire to undercut all the soft power we had accumulated. The only thing I can figure is they couldn't figure a way to monetize it to their benefit. But that is really just another failing of their creativity. I'd guess they were expecting to benefit from all the corruption they claimed was there, but were disappointed when it turned out that you really had to spend money on poor people to make it work.

When diesel is in the $7 range, everyone feels it because the cost of delivering everything goes up to pay for it. What a horrible, self-destructive, Russian-agent thing to have done to our nationâs economy. He has no idea what heâs doing, and proves it daily. Senile loser adulterous felon.
And being so stupid as to decrease the nationâs ability to get electricity from other renewable sources - while petroleum sources are also still available, except that he just screwed the pooch on that one, too - is just madness. âWindmills cause cancerâ my ass. He just doesnât know what heâs doing, like his many many other failures.
Likely related - solar panel pricing in Mexico has gone down notably. It was decreasing over the last decade generally, but the last two years have been really dramatic.
His actions in restricting Cuba's oil has made a whole market there for solar energy. What a neat thing that another part of his legacy of corruption and incompetence is that he will have inadvertently moved the rest of the world forward in adapting cleaner energy sources.

With sanctions removed from Iran selling oil the world price will drop. That will cripple Russia's ability to prop up it's dwindling foreign currency reserves and thus to trade for war material from China, hire mercenaries, fund hybrid warfare, and keep goods on the shelves. Combined with Ukraine's increasingly effective kinetic sanctions program Russia will be further on the back foot.
China is nothing but happy about the drain on US arsenals but they aren't ready to move on Taiwan yet or they would have. They can afford to be patient. Taiwan isn't going anywhere.
The weakening of US power is ongoingâit certainly didn't start with the attack on Iran. Wrecking relationships with allies has accomplished something Xi and Putin could never have managed on their own. Uniting the Americas against the US is also proceeding apace; if the US invades Cubaâthe next phase of Operation Wag the Dog, something nobody but Marco Rubio wantsâwe'll have poisoned relations with our neighbors for another generation.
However Trump leaves office he and his supporters will be oblivious to the damage he's done. They will point to the wreckage and proclaim him the most consequential president since Lincoln, as if that were an accomplishment, like getting in the Guinness Book of World Records for leaving the world's deepest crater.

I'm so glad you (and everyone else here) read the details of the deal. I feel so relieved to know what will happen next ...
Thanks !
And hey, aren't all of you the same ones who said that gas prices would stay up regardless of how this all ends ?
You guys, you're the best !!!!
But what is really funny is how all of you wanted fuel to go up and get us off internal combustion and into electric powered vehicles.
Then it goes up and you all start bitching.
I suppose y'all will want your cake and eat it, too, next ...
No I haven't read the details of the deal but have read what the Iranians say is in the deal. I do take that with a grain of salt. But the US government isn't saying what is in the deal. Why are they hiding it from you? It's not like it is a secret from Iran.
Supposedly, it includes unfreezing and returning Iranian assets - you know, the same thing republicans complain about Obama doing.
Supposedly, it includes allowing Iran to continue with low-level enrichment of uranium.
No unconditional surrender by Iran. No saving women from "these" fundamentalists. No saving women from US fundamentalists, either, but I digress.

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing
