cool thing about living (part time) in our quirky little town: There is a very vibrant music scene that gets some notable attention. There is also a good caring community that does good civil work.
I've posted a lot about the dog stuff we do here. Last night we went to a fundraiser held at one of our favorite very out of the way restaurants. It was a small affair, probably 40 people. Good food, lots of camaraderie, they had a mariachi band that was excellent. Then there were a couple guys that definitely looked like they were in a band, and an older guy... familiar looking... Oh, Peter Buck from REM is here. That's an odd enough thing for a small desert restaurant, but when noting it to someone else they said "yeah, John Paul Jones is here too". I actually had to google him to be sure, but he looks really good for being 80. They both have places here and there is a big music festival coming up, so it sort of makes sense, but still a bit non-sequitur.
i love hanging out practically anywhere with good people, music and food
in my younger days scuba was my main reason for going to mexico
i'm grateful that my experiences there were all excellent
sans a minor digestive adjustment or two (pass the limes please)
enjoy
happy friday peeps
your weekend is here
and thanks for the kind words
