How do you bust the clouds?
Grass on your back been hanging in the air
I wanna scope you out
I wanna touch your mouth when you're up there

When are you coming back?
Bird on a branch will come back home to sing
When are you coming back?
Bringing it back and singing what you bring

How do you bust the clouds?
Head on the ground and feeling what you've seen
I wanna scope you out
I wanna be your eyes and show you me

When are you coming back?
When are you gonna burn that broken bed?
When are you coming back?
I wanna see you drifting overhead

The horns and to a lesser degree the drums put me in mind of Talk Talk. Excellent!

I in fact do listen all day long, while at my desk or at home (much my kids' dismay lol)

I try to get the wife to run the jackhammer whilst this song plays.
So nice....

I would say there's too much happy go lucky tunes instead. But that's what keeps all of us here, there's something for everybody.
very relaxing, love it
On my way to see them in Berlin in November.

Really looking forward to it!

Overhead Mysterious 'Blooming' Galaxy - Cosmic Crash Site?
Today this song arrived on the heels of "More Than This" by Roxy Music.
First time I've heard this song, and it's mighty fine.
I likes it.

This is wonderful. I think Sam Beam lives near here too.

I generally go out of my way to avoid hearing CSN's "Wooden Ships", but it does have a similar sound in the muted strumming of the intro and the minor chords.
Outstanding 9!
Gorgeous transition to Grinderman!

So, it is really true!

Bill is a magician!

Disappointing. Like a penguin, nice bird but never flies.
Gave a 5.
I always get excited because from the first few bars I think we are going to hear 'Common People'.

PERFECT transition from Grinderman - compliment, Bill!

{politely}  That's not a sax, but a trumpet (or cornet) with a cup mute.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKwypw4-E9U
Fantastic stuff!!!
Push from 7-8!

These two band are great and I love certain songs that they have written separately. This particular song, written by both groups, is very quiet, low key & a little boring. What it says is fine but nothing amazing. Zzz. (But I do like the brass.) 6.

At this point Iron & Wine was one guy, Sam Beam, who has since assembled bands of sorts for his own albums. But this lovely collaboration with Calexico came at a point in his development where he needed a proper band behind him. Since then Beam's output has been more daring, more robust. We get to see what he could do and what he's done since. Great thing to watch—better to hear.

just hearing the intro was enough to recognise Calexico's very distinctive drum sound and playing. Very nice.Sound of spring peeking around the corner.

Could be the beer talking, but I just changed my rating from 8 to 10.  I smell another CD purchase coming, thanks to RP.  Don't worry, I'll link from RP's site...

Ooops!  thanks for the correction.  I usually tune out when there are ANY horns involved, cannot stand blaring trumpets.  But when they have this muffled quality that I associate with "film noir", I like it.

I think that might be a muted trumpet or coronet.
Love this song and this whole record, most especially "A History Of Lovers" and "Sixteen, Maybe Less".
I can relate to this song quite well.
Love the sax

Indeed, instant 8, maybe it will even rise on repeated listens...

thanks brighthue  - that trumpet is distinctive. just goes to show ya, there should be more trumpet - everyone thinks it's Miles

more horns in general, i say, while i'm sayin'

Ambient?
Very cool, nice mix of instruments.

Elokin2141, given the fact that you mention sex in your post . . . it's pretty obvious that your not Amish. That, and the fact that your using a computer, part of modern society, etc. etc. This is really good album which turned me onto both Iron & Wine and Calexico bands who are both good American artists. America does offer really good, original bands-they are just not mainstream.
Very pleasant mood throughout the song, well done!

Probably not Miles, but maybe it's that gorgeous member of Calexico, German multi-instrumentalist Martin W.
Sounds kinda like Miles sampled in the background.
