Now I suppose it'll be banned in Florida. Their loss.
one of the many reasons why i left the fundamentalist republic of florida
i feel like i could hear that one derek trucks band song right after this one...this sky, i think it was called. that would be a good 3 in a row.
I booked Fleetwood Mac for a student gig in Aberdeen just before they released this record. Needless to say a higher fee was discussed fokkowing their success but not agreed! It was in Aberdeen after all!!
They were nae wise min ....
this is exactly what i think of every time this song comes on.
The pic on the album cover is NOT a woman. It's Mick Fleetwood dressed as a woman. Done as a joke. I'm pretty sure this album included Black Magic Woman too. These were the Peter Green days.

The picture is on Wikipedia; nothing that William can do about that.
Can't change the one on wikipedia - yea, understood. But here, i thought Bill-i-am could do whatever he likes on his station...
Bill, please replace that goddamn picture of that goddamn1977 line up that ruined Fleetwood Mac when it's a Peter Green or Bob Welch FC tune....please please please...some times a band should change it's name when it is not the same band e.g. Blind Faith... not Cream nor Traffic

Cover definietly appears to be a take on KC Court of the Crimson King (esp. given time period). And quite a good rendition too (in a funny way).
c.
Peter Green! Simply the best !!
Yep, cracking blues
It's bleedin' albatross flavor, innit!
Do you get wafers with it??
Sure beats Stormy Petrel on a stick as I haven't always preferred the Procellariinformes as an order of birds
Peter Green and Danny Kirwan were one of the greatest double solo guitars ever
Which Moron would give this comment a thumbs down?!?!?
The same one that gave yours the thumbs-down too, I expect, friend. Takes all sorts...
Good tune! ...scary album cover!
RIP Peter. Thanks for the great music you made.

There was a concert back in Feb 2020 before all this madness - Mick Fleetwood and friends celebrate the music of Peter Green and the early years of Fleetwood Mac - one of the guests is David Gilmour - he plays Albatross on his slide guitar to the delight of the audience – it is well truly worth finding it - and, if you can, also look for ‘Oh Well Part 2’
It's on YouTube, just search Peter Green Tribute.
Great song. John Lennon liked it so much he cribbed it a bit for Sun King :)
I kept waiting for "Quando paramucho mi amore..."

omg would have loved to have seen that, been there.
Considering the album title, it's actually perfect. Mick Fleetwood in drag.
This gif is the perfect accompaniment to this song.
...except ... that's a frickin' gull, ya wally! An albatross is as different and separate from a gull as you (and I) are from a chimp.
This gif is the perfect accompaniment to this song.
Looks like the lady from "Total Recall" that says "Two weeks......two weeks.....twooooahhhhweeksaaah....".
Not when you realize that's probably the reaction they were aiming for...
Also, consider these:
53 of the worst album covers of all time
There they are - what a team ....

Had to check your birthday. Your profile tells me you are from 1960. This song came out when you were nine and must have been played a million times since then. Where have you been the last 47 years? Just curious.
One wouldn't have had to be hiding not to have heard this song much since its release. This song didn't really receive a lot of airplay in The States after the early 1970s, especially if one didn't live near the bigger cities which played album cuts and more obscure singles.
Anyhow, cool tune.
That's Mick Fleetwood in "drag".
That's Mike Fleetwood in "drag".
Talented guy but I don't think Mick Fleetwood would have cut it as a girl!
You just don't know where to look. https://www.facebook.com/TheVanduras/
I actually uploaded this because I couldn't believe it wasn't in the playlist. Apparently that's almost 10 years ago now… damn I'm getting old.

Dragonfly is also a beautiful little song - maybe worth cueing up on here some time?

Nice article - there is mention of his multi-note bends. Here is a nice acoustic version that shows it well.
