Why do the days
Go by so fast
If only time
Was built to last
If it could learn
To take it slow
Then maybe time
At last would know
That if Monday, Tuesday
Should go away
It'll be Wednesday, Thursday
Then Saturday
And when Sunday comes
It's just too late
It's gotta be this time
How come the days
Do what they do
Maybe if time
Time only knew
Could be that time
Don't really know
That it should try
To take it slow
Then maybe Monday, Tuesday
Won't go away
Then maybe Thursday, Friday
Could be like Saturday
And when Sunday comes
It's never too late
It'll be this time
It's gotta be this time
How come the days
Do what they do
Maybe if time
Time only knew
That if Monday, Tuesday

I genuinely wonder how many songs have weekdays in them :o)
What's that thing that sounds like dogs barking under water?
My wife & I met a friend in a Westwood, CA bar for a mid-afternoon Bloody Mary, around 1983. Sat in the raised seating area in the front window with only an ornamental iron railing between us and the band. They were absolutely frackin' phenomenal. Didn't know until I bought "How Will the Wolf Survive" that we had been sitting that close to Los Lobos. Regret to this day not staying for the entire afternoon.
This is one of those "Oh I know about alot of music, wait, who's this band, what, decades of material? Who? Huh??" moments

Cool groove. Sing it, dawg!
I've always loved the feel of this one, used to have a great live version that I can no longer find. Had some nice improv in the bridge.
Such smooth sax parts....along with a wonderful groove.
Love theses guys.
Kind of like Pink Floyds Dogs from the Animals LP. My dogs heard exactly what you did.
Do I hear barking dogs in the distance?
'bout time for This Time,....15 degrees here and now it doesn't seem so cold
Love the lobos -the album and the contemporary feel of this work in comparison to the other fine work that they do.Love them whn they play at the Fillmore....
So good it hurts

This set is makin me crazy
Freakin cool song from a freakin cool band!!!
Terrific song and CD - and sooo true...
Great stuff! Thanks, Bill! In my several years of listening to RP this is the first time I have seen no disagreement about the quality of the music and the integrity of the band. That's saying something! If you are a Los Lobos fan and haven't seen them live lately - or ever - check out "Live at the Fillmore" (July 20-30, 2004) on CD.
I can't keep still
Baddiest, baddest, coolest mofo's on the planet!!! They are icons... in my book. If you've never seen them live, do yourself the favor.

I just recently saw them for the first time, but I've known about them since the early 80s. Let's put it this way, I was bummed when they played La Bamba, so many other great songs they could have done instead of playing an easy crowd pleaser. One of the singers had a bad cold and was doing tequila shots all night and still did a great job. They should be national icons.
I keep trying, but I cannot put these guys in a box. They are clearly so much more than La Bamba.

Please play more from Los Lobos! One of the top 10 American bands, IMO.
It gotta be this time!! Great band!
a great song for dancing with a little one on your toes. ^_^

and who's playing on the patio? Los Lobos.
Don't you just hate when that happens?
1995, flew home from that armpit called Houston to my home in wonderful western Colorado. I grab a hotel room for the night before driving the last hundred miles into the boonies...and who's playing on the patio? Los Lobos. What a great way to come home.
Please go see these guys live. They just opened for John Mellancamp, and I was lucky enough to score front row tickets when my friend's wife declined to go. I was unlucky enough to have to stay for most of the Mellancamp show that followed a too-brief, 45 minute opening set.

This is Los Lobos? Sweet
That's always my reaction when I hear this.
Yeah, again, thanks to RP for more Los Lobos exposure. It started and stopped previously with La Bamba for the biopic of Ritchie Valens that came out in 1987, also called La Bamba after Valens big song in the 50s.
This is Los Lobos? Sweet
YEah..great song
Just saw these guys two nights ago...one of the best live bands ever. If you ever get the chance go see them, they are not what you would expect!
smooooooove...

This is a great record; I bought this cold, purely on a review I trusted when it first came out, and I have never regretted a minute of this disc.
Agreed - excellent CD!!
These guys are great! I went to see them at a small outdoor shoow - maybe 500 people, and knew nothing about them. hooked for life.
Mmm. I'm dancing sweet and slow in my computer chair.
(pimp) \:D/ oooooh, yeah....driving, smoky, toe tapper. Go LL. :nodhead:
