One of the most frustrating experiences of my life is spotting Lyle Lovett in a country bar in Nashville, and not being able to share my excitement with anybody -- because none of the Toby Keith fans in the place had ever heard of Lyle Lovett. Later confirmed that he's known to hang out there.
I gotta hear Road to Ensenada now. "Right now I'm feeling bad."

he is a quiet but personable performer and must have some character - got trampled by a bull while protecting his uncle. This is a teriffic album and his shows are enjoyable.

I was at that show and it wasn't a deal breaker for me anyways.

This may be the first Lyle Lovett song I think is first rate. His reputation seems often to exceed my estimation. But not this time.
