Well the bus is pulling out
And I guess I'd better go
Before I make a grave mistake and let my feelings show
And twenty miles away
She waits alone for me
But when I try to picture her you're the one I see

And in another situation I could put up a fight
But you will be my downfall tonight

So the night is coming down
Drowning us in blue
And it all points towards the things we know we shouldn't do
And as I look at you
And I fall under your spell
Well, I know I should be thinking of her lying there herself

And when faced with temptation you know a man should stand and fight
But you will be my downfall tonight

Be my downfall
Be my great regret
Be the one girl
That I'll never forget
Be my undoing
Be my slow road to ruin tonight

Well the bus is pulling out
And I'm grounded here with you
And I want to say the sweet things babe I've always wanted to
So tell me now the tail-lights have gone out of sight
Baby won't you be my downfall once again tonight

Because the word "situation" is so obscure and the writer couldn't have a legitimate reason to use it in the lyric? {#Rolleyes}

Yeah, weird comment from Antigone. Good response.

Ah yes, Del Amitri. Heartbreakingly beautiful songs about the futility of love.

What happened to them? I think they ran out of ideas. This album was their peak, for me.

Please! Listen to "Kiss This Thing Goodbye"  and I think it will knock your socks off.
This one can't sing, has lame production, and awesumly flaccid lyrics.
YES! Finally, Del Amitri at Radion Paradise! Thanks.
Also check out the Justin Currie solo catalogue. He is the maddest, angry man in Scotland.

P.S: They did not run out of ideas. Check out their latest album and enjoy.
Apologies for another "time and place" posting, but Del Amitri always brings me back to cold dark nights hanging out doing homework at the Union Board office at the student union during college. A memory that holds little weight other than a hint of nostalgia.
Del Amitri is a personal favorite of mine.
But I have not heard this song on RP before now.
Solid 7 from me.

Del Amitri is an underrated band. Some oddball lyrics now and again, but I see that as endearing.
Good to hear some Del Amitri here.
I've always liked Del Amitri!  Thanks!
Yes! More Del Amitri please!

Yes, such an unforgivable lyric!!
I find this song extremely aggravating and dismal.

Ok, anyone who uses "situation" in a lyric and doesn't have a real reason (he's not rhyming anything) is not someone who gets a high score from me. Meh. 4 or 5.

Quite some time between plays and comments, huh? Did we have cell phones in 2003? Running water?
Sounds like strained emo.

I don't know if they're even still together, but this is one fuckin AWESOME live band
They are currently not playing together but have not broken up. They lost their recording contract and have been in limo since. Justin, the singer, has a new band called The Uncle Devil Show, check them out.
