Sweet as Mary out of sheer love
Runs the water
Clean and beautiful
Leaves it standing on a Sunday
Here's the ritual

She has never been so pure has never been so pure

She throws down her trail of cigarette
Sunday wishes
Sunday wishes for his arrival
This one blessing
She wants nothing more

Out of sheer love
Out of sheer love

She has never been so pure has never been so pure

Below the surface she comes up for air and
She finds

She has never been so pure and full of desire
She has never been so pure

Seven pale scars out so sheer love
Seven pale scars
Here's the ritual out of sheer love
A small sacrifice
Clean and beautiful

I'm sorry to say Cynaera passed onto the great audience in the sky some years ago, though, I'm sure they have hardwood floors there, and she's most likely she's still listening.

That album is in rotation on RP, but the "airplane" cover is not used here.
Why am I hearing Porcupine Tree "The Sound Of Muzak".
A great 1985 tune I haven’t heard in a long time, thanks for playing it RP.
I haven’t heard this song in forever!!

I remember hearing this in my early days as an RP newbie…<le sigh!>

Hearing  this tonight brought back such great memories of all the new music with which I was gifted via this “new“ radio station I have discovered!

Forever grateful to William, Rebecca, & RP ! ❤️
I'm buying this one just for the album cover....

guess you never heard the phrase "pure as mother's milk". Note how the lettering is laid out. Also the album is fantastic.

I believe so too — seems we may be in the minority here though....  I've owned this CD for years now, and still play it every now and again.  I like this song — 8 for me

If this song were not so long, I might be persuaded to appreciate it. Sadly, this is not the case. I think "Ho Hum" sums it up at 3.

If you don't appreciate this genre of music, or are not inspired by it, that's fine.  Since when has popular music not been marketed with the same methods that "they" sell sports cars or any other products?  Do you have a copy of the Blind Faith album with the original cover?

I think you're quite confused. The monologue re: a girl being kidnapped is from the CD Dead Inside, and that whole CD is creepy. But no such thing on this CD.

very pretty piece; oddly, I keep thinking I'd like to hear Michael Stipe do a cover of this.  It would be a very different take, but very nice, too.

I loved hearing this song  —-had no idea they sounded like that; but from what I read, they had many different sounds—maybe just start with this one.

I would suggest this GPs release instead:

Fool, no one said anything about banishment, the suggestion appears to be aimed at putting a nay-sayer in closer touch with something that might better meet their apparent tastes.  Unlike your over-the-top and insulting reviews Mr. Fluffy Wood Shavings (def. of excelsior), RadioDoc made no attempt to poison the listening experience for the rest of us.

Nice but not the right time to hear it I guess.
Art thou the Bird whom Man loves best, The pious Bird with the scarlet breast, Our little English Robin; The Bird that comes about our doors When Autumn winds are sobbing?

Any breast is remarkable. In one way or another. All those little tingly nerve endings leading who-knows-where....
Why is she singing about Alan Shearer? (Footballer for those listeners not residing in the UK) I felt like a right tit when I saw the album cover.
C'mon haters of the cover art! Relax - its just a human body part. Some of us actually have them I'm told. RP is just trying to keep us abreast of some great new music! :-)
I really wish RP had a way to show how long songs are, so I'd know whether to wait the bad ones out or find something else to listen to.

I don't know this album but this particular boob is really good. It's got a really boobie groove and that bass is just boobie! I'd love to boob more from this boobie! Adding them to my must-boob list! Boob again, RP!

Jup, and the spoken vocals on Dead inside are Nicole Blackman ripping away with her own texts. Gut wrenchinlgy good she is... Check out the Recoil albums "Unsound Methods" and "Liquid" if you want more Nicole =) Fact is I might even upload a few, though they are probably not acceptable to the majority here.

You might find this interesting. It is from Amazon.com... Alan Caylow (on Amazon.com) wrote:
The Ultimate Audio Aphrodisiac! February 27, 2001 Reviewer: Alan Caylow (USA) The Golden Palominos are a New York-based studio group masterminded by ace drummer/producer Anton Fier. Fier remains the only consistent member of the Palominos from album to album (albeit with occasional holdover members), and he always has a continuing revolving door of musicians and singers to round out the Palominos line-up on each album. That way, the Palominos are never the same group twice, nor do they ever deliver the same album twice. With each new album, the Palominos have gone from avant-garde jazz-rock, to straight rock, to pop, to folk, to ambient, and, most recently, to spoken word (with "sound collage" accompanyment). No matter what the line-up or musical direction is on any given album, the Golden Palominos have delivered some of the most refreshing, exciting music ever committed to tape. And yet, it's absolutely astonishing that Anton Fier's unique studio project, despite major critical acclaim, has never risen past a cult following. The Golden Palominos are *still* the music business' best-kept secret group. The best shot the Palominos have had so far at achieving mainstream success was with 1994's "Pure," an astounding CD that is not only a work of genius, and the Palominos' best album, but is also far-and-away, hands-down the most *erotic* album ever recorded. With it's hypnotic tunes, sonic landscapes, beautifully lush production, and the sensual vocals of Lori Carson & Lydia Kavanaugh, "Pure" simply seduces you. FABULOUS musicianship is on display here: Anton Fier's slammin' drumbeats, Bill Laswell's ultra-fat & funky basslines, masterful fretboard work from Bootsy Collins, Knox Chandler & Nicky Skopelitus, atmospheric keyboard-playing from Amanda Kramer, and finally, the aforementioned lovely voices of Lori Carson & Lydia Kavanaugh. From the gorgeous acoustic opener "Little Suicides," to the phenomenally dreamy title track, to the memorable half-spoken, half-chanted finale "Touch You," this album is an exquisitely beautiful work of art. The "Pure" line-up of the Golden Palominos *almost* toured in support of this brilliant album. Alas, the tour was ultimately scrapped for financial reasons, which is not only a pity, it's a tragedy! I would've LOVED to have seen this version of the band live. What a fantastic show it would've been....oh well, there's always the album. From the very first time I ever heard "Pure" (while shopping in a music store, by the way), I knew that this was an album that was truly something special. That it failed to reach a mass audience is a total mockery of justice. EVERY home, in my opinion, should have a copy of "Pure" by The Golden Palominos. It's original, intelligent, meticulously produced, & seductive. Buy The Golden Palominos' "Pure" right now---it's the ultimate audio aphrodisiac!
Lovely complexity both with voices and instruments. Especially like the rough breathiness in certain areas as a contrast to the overall smoothness. An 8 for sure.
This CD is both disturbing and dreamy, and definitely worth having. The first track is a monologue of a kidnapping/killing of a young woman. Pretty much the most disturbing thing I've ever heard. Incredibly artistic CD overall.

I've wondered about that for years. Direct investigation is warranted.
Golden Palominos have better songs, Little Suicides or Wings for example.... hopefully more songs will be played so people will give them another chance.
I like the voice, but not this tune; I'll have to check out some of the other work she/they did.
