So glad to see you well
Overcome and completely silent now
With heaven's help
You've cast your demons out
And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you off your cloud
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're plannin' to go about makin' your amends
To the dead
To the dead
Recall the deeds as if they're all
Someone else's atrocious stories
Now, you stand reborn before us all
So glad to see you well
And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you to the ground
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're plannin' to go about makin' your amends
To the dead
To the dead
With your halo slippin' down
Your halo slippin'

Sorry ... this is trying/burdensome ... an irritation amidst other great songs I've been listening to for most of today. Esp. when followed by Randy Newman, the amazing human.

Peachy. I've heard enough from this album to get me wad out. Thanks RP.
Well ! I recall someone else's halo.
Amazing song by an amazing band. Thank you so much for playing!
Yuck. 21st century version of REO Speedwagon, aka Corporate Rock.
nice drum work
PSD, 'cept it still don't work proper!
At least it goes quiet.

Horrible. I don't think I've heard it before but there's nothing about that that appeals to me, and some of it is just rank. I hear autotune too.
This is a terrific album, and a nice trio of albums. But I can't listen to these guys every day.
I like the music but that banana slug freaks me out!

"Cheerful little ditty"... not quite what I was thinking, Bill, but I appreciate the sarcasm. :-) I love hearing this song here. Kudos!
Absolutely love his melodic vocals mixed with pensive accompaniment. They are an infinitely iinteresting band.

I'm always happy to hear anything by Maynard Keenan on RP. He's one of the most interesting and unique singers and lyricists of the past decade or so.
We're not crazy, we're just misunderstood.

It is a little surprising how many people on this thread are chomping at the bit for more APC/Tool!
They're definitely on the heavier end of the eclectic RP spectrum. Still, it seems to me that that must be some indication there's room for a little more here.

LOOOOVE Tool/PC! Maynard's voice is fantastic. No one else can be so heavy and so atmosperic at the same time.

Thought this was Depeche Mode for the first 10 seconds...Never really noticed the vocal similarities between Maynard and Gahan before.
Sounds like every third song on the local "alt rock" station (the one with the requisite "X" in the call letters).....
May seem strange, but this guys voice has always reminded me of Mickey Dolens of the Monkeys.
Go Slugs! (UCSC alumni, here)
F*ckin' awesome....
More APC! Please!

Tool and PC are both good. Perfect Circle is slightly milder in sound but no less well done. there really isn't anything I would say avoid by either project of Maynard. Click the iTunes or Amazon links and one really can't go wrong.

Maynard actually has a new group coming out... Puscifer. There are a few songs on the web site, check it out if you are a Maynard fan.
I thought this was Tool, but then realized that it was too lite to be Tool and I said to myself, "Self, that must be A Perfect Circle, then." It's pretty good anyway.

Noo! Dammit! I actually like APC more than Tool, but anyway. I am thankful for the great music they released, and this is maybe their best song in my opinion.

Feeling sorry for themselves???? Hmmm, I must have missed the point of APC..... I thought thier music was about opening your third eye--- your mind---- to the truths of the world. I fail to recall any "Maynard & Co." songs where they feel sorry for themselves.... I thought this particular song was about religous fundamentalist hipocrisy? You know, sending thousands to their death in the name of a god they dreamed up? I guess after hearing songs like this I do feel sorry for myself, being born to a society where we send people to death in the name of the creator. Some day the creator will get pissed at us using his name for our greed and violence, instead of doing what we were put here for- to live. I've got something to keep you all occupied- learn to swim.
