When my love
Stands next to your love,
I can't define love
When it's not love.
It's not love.
It's not love.
Which is my face,
Which is a building,
Which is on fire.
When my love
Stands next to your love,
I can't define love
When it's not love.
It's not love.
It's not love.
Which is my face,
Which is a building,
Which is on fire.
I've got two loves
I've got two loves
And they go tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet, like little birds
They're my two loves...
Count them one, two loves...
Count them one, two loves.
Which is my face
Which is a building
Which is on fire
It's not love.
It's not love.
Which is my face,
Which is a building,
Which is on fire.
Stands next to your love,
I can't define love
When it's not love.

Love the song, love the album even more. However, I knew from the first notes that this would be too juicy of bait for the TH haters to resist. They're practically foaming at the mouth, and man is it hilarious!!

No, NO. The PSD button's up THERE, kid. Quick. Because this is some awful stuff.
Sounds good to me. The only case for me in which the voice is so bad that it really matters much is Neil Young. That guy cannot sing.

Dreadful.
coolest band on this planet. period!
The energy of this young band sizzles, even decades later.
YeeHaw!
YeeHaw!
There is not one TH song that I like. Not one. His voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
I like Dylan, Waits, Neil Young and the like, but not Byrne. Don't know why.

I just do not get it. The guitar is great ... but the voice is like fingernails on a chalk board. I've got to mute.
thanks rp this is definitly a 10!! sacred
And that's why TH is an "alternative" band
Keep the Byrne coming RP!
Oh my Gawd this is awful
Talking Heads wouldn't be Talking Heads without Byrne's voice, would they? I like his voice but to each etc...
I can understand why his voice bothers some, but I can't explain why I like it!
Discordant genius!
Meh....
David Byrne shares a common place with other great songwriters like Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan.
You kind of have to recognize how great the song writing is, even the performance. But you can be forgiven for hating the voice.

what a waste of vinyl . . . silicon?
Wow! I've never heard this version before. Thank you RP!! Reminds me why the Talking Heads were so innovative and just plain awesome.

This is a new one for me.

Talking Heads Rock. DB is a genius. Get over being snobby about his voice and the music.
I am a fan
Thanks Bill!
Don't hear this one too often.
One of my favorite Talking Heads songs.

nice little pun action there Poose!
I'm a dissenting voice on this one. The few songs of David Byrne's that I like, I really like, but this ain't one of them.
I.......can't.......do.......this......
Good one!
Hi Bill! You are a real fan of Talking heads...
Me too. Thanks
Pearl Jam does a "rockin'" live cover of this tune.
yeah, anit would be incomplete and incorrect.
Seriously, DB and the T-heads were easy to love and quite original.
What would an ecclectic radio station be without David Byrne, I implore?!! It would be anit-ecclectic, methinks.
I dig DB and the Heads. Please keep playing them often, thanks Bill!

What is it with Radio Paradise -snip-
You had to post this on every song of theirs? Nice, jackass.
It's just the top 10% of DB's register which I suspect elicits the negative comments.
I'm pro TH but do find the tighty-whities strain a bit much, on occasion.
I think DB needs a bit more support on this page. So here's my grain of sand. The problem seems to be that a lot of people don't understand that Byrne is using his voice as an instrument, or like an artist uses his brush, to make sweeping stokes and rough squiggles, etc. It's not 'grating' or anything else the don't-get-DB'ers say. Its sound painting.
hard to beat!

I'm not a fan of Byrne, and I find myself thinking the same thing. However, I do think that if Bill is playing something I like, I might not notice if he plays that artist every day. If he's playing something I don't like (find grating), it's hard NOT to notice.
Does that make sense? That said, I think Bill likes TH and Byrne....
Time to even things out, to provide counter to the asinine comments below--this is fantastic, urgent artistry.

Now I know where Gibby Haynes from the Butthole Surfers got his ideas from. Viva 'Gibbytronix'!

Okay, I can understand if you don't "get" Byrne, I can almost understand if you think he's obnoxious (because you don't get it), but BORING?? I'm hoping that's a bad translation, perhaps...

You must not be listening to the radio these days. If you were, you would have noticed that the majority of alternative music today is highly influenced by these guys. They are as relevent and fresh now as they were "back in the day".
jagdriver wrote:

that from someone whose handle is "jagdriver".
Oh man is this good. SO glad you're playing it.
These guys could always rock, especially live.
This stuff is okay, but, anything from "REMAIN IN LIGHT" is what we should be hearing right now.
fun back in the day.

"T O O - N A H S!!!" just kidding, these guys helped me through my final years in high school.

Your comment made me get that set, and I wholeheartedly agree with you!

Agree, I prefer this album as the Stop making sense.

Just bought it. If there was any prior question as to Byrne's and the band's genius, these two discs should put any such doubt to rest. Electrifying.
Adrian Belew fans should check out his amazing work on display on the second disc, too.

Just got released last month. The CD has a lot of extra tracks and good liner notes. Yes. You must go purchase...
It may explain a lot that this album and this song in particular had the greatest influence on me of all...

This song (live or studio version) is not on the original vinyl release of this album, it was on later CD versions. The studio version of this song was released as a single a few months before this album was released.
