Old Adam, the crow
Is building a home in your field
Where bitterweeds grow
All around the corn
Will you be the father
That drives the thief from your home?
Or let him run wild
As your first born?
"Well I carried the plow
And carved out a home in this world
And I carried the bow
To protect the corn
Now the summer is over
My hands are tired and slow
And I can't stop loving
My first born."
Old Adam, the crow
Is flying away from your field
And you'll never know
What makes him run
"I dreamed of my father
Who drove me out of his home
And dreamt of forgiving
My wild son."

All around the corn

That drives the thief from your home?

Nice! This is the first comment in 10 years? Wow!
Maybe if my wife was my sister and the F150 just brought us to the County Fair, otherwise no thanks

Totally Nebraska
nice.
Based on the comments, this lovely song gets played once every few months. So to those who say Bill plays songs too often.
Pretty little ditty.
Eh. Sort of hackneyed.

Reminds me a lot of Kate Wolf. Good stuff.
Her voice sounds very much like Susan Aglukark.

I am really enjoying this entire CD. My kids like to fall asleep to it, too.
Yeah, it's putting me to me sleep.
A bit corny but I love it. Short too, that has to be under 2 minutes.

uh oh... does this mean we're switching from a great morning of boys to mid-morning girls? wah.

First to rate and comment! Yippee. Her voice, following Neko Case, is familiar and strong enough to carry the song to a 7.
i have an mp3 cd player in my truck and three hem cds, three neko cds, three emmylou cds, and three lucinda cds fit on one mp3 cd......it is a very smooth blend on random....

Luv HEM... some of the sweetest music I'm certain I'll ever hear.

Catch this band live if you can. I've seen them three times, and tried for five. Now that I'm living abroad, I'll have to leave it up to you First Worlders.
Hem: Is there anything those kids can't do?? Love em
Is this what women are supposed to listen to when they Hem. Sorry, I had to say it.
Me thunk it was Rita Coolidge at first!
