Translation from lyricstranslate.com:
River Waters
Flowing waters of the river
See
These are the days of your life
The waters of your life
Washed in the current
That begins with the first rain
Flowing water of the river
See
These are the streams of water
That will reach an anguished desert
With the falling silence
Even if I drink the entire ocean
It will not quench my thirst
For another day close to you
For another day in your arms
Even if I sit under the sun
Her rays will not burn me
As my heart burns in the flames of your love
Peace to Israel October 2023
Peace for the world
There would be, if everyone would stop trying to erase Israel.
Unfortunately, antisemitism is hidden in ''low rate'' option, despite positive comments. Weird.
River water flows. Look. These are the days of your life. They are from the days of your life. washed away in the current. which begins with first rain . River water flows.
Peace for the world
The vocalist appears to be Anat Ben Hamo - lovely voice.
Focusing on work today (really!), but this new-to-me song filtered through to my consciousness. Seems like Morcheeba's "Enjoy the Ride" would be a good companion piece.
I always have a hard time taking someone serious that uses [insert full name here] project or [insert full name here] band.
You mean like the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Alan Parsons Project, Dave Matthews Band?
A lot of comments say the same thing, that the hard kh is grating. It's so strange. This song is memorable to me because I especially enjoy those and the way they are made to sound (to my ears at least) delicate and melodious.
Well I don't like a lot of songs sung in German for the same reason. It is often just not an attractive language when sung.
This vocalist obviously chose to emphasize this particular aspect of her language for this song and I agree it is grating.
Haha.... this is interesting and funny of me to read.
I speak fluent Hebrew and when I hear this song I find nothing out of the ordinary in how she sings with the hard "kh" sound, as this is how Hebrew is spoken. Think of it as three incremental options used for different things: "sh", "ch", and "kh" - so no, I'm positive that she didn't chose to emphasize this.
On the other hand, when I hear German, Danish, or Dutch it sounds very hard to my ear because I, like you, am not used to their specific hard dialects.
So yeah, I can relate why Hebrew is hard for you guys :). If you want to have a laugh from someone that emphasizes the hard dialects listen to Sacha Baron Cohen's "Erran Morrad" character, you'll have a great laugh, then this song will feel as smooth as silk for you
Interesting that most of the negative comments come from the States. Some of you folks need to get out a bit more and see the world. RP is a great way to do this.
So agree!

Everybody in my church loves this song...
I like it too. Beautiful. Nice lyrics assuming the English translation does them justice.
And why is that?
Keep the politics to a minimum? In deference to the American listeners who come here to self-medicate on music?
No.
No.
And why is that?
Oh, for heaven's sake. It's just another language, OK? I assume that you live in North America - which is populated with more immigrants than native people. Surely you are used to a variety of accents?
Dutch is another language that English-speakers find guttural and grating. But Dutch people think that Americans speak through their noses and talk too loudly. Do we have to make these comments on each others languages?
Glad that you like the music though. Me too.

I was talking about how they use the hard consonants or Hebrew to enhance the tune. Hope this answers your question.
yep, that gurgling sound made me push PSD, even tho it is lovely melody and her voice is sweet....
No.
how so? i'd like to know
I wonder if English sounds wimpy to native speakers of those languages?
More music, much more music. Like, dislike, share impressions, share feelings, no politics, please.

Israel's on going settlement of the occupied West Bank may be the single biggest threat to western security. Translation: Americans have died and more will die.
But on the other hand, if that situation is going to be solved, the solution will come from Israelis and Americans Jews, many of whom are the most informative and most insightful critics of the situation.
I recall growing up in peaceful, affluent Ottawa in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Canadians were 'good' and Americans were 'bad' because of the Vietnam War. Then I started travelling the USA—first in a high school band exchange trip to Syracuse, NY—and discovered that there was the lively debate going on. Many Americans were very well informed and highly critical of the involvement in Vietnam.
Within a few years, the US withdrew from Vietnam—largely due to the efforts and sometimes sacrifices of democratically engaged Americans.
A few years later, I travelled the Apartheid Republic of South Africa and discovered how American 'constructive engagement' was a key factor in overthrowing the Apartheid regime.
Let's stay engaged.
Once again: more Israeli music please.

I want the physical. Not a fan of electronic files, philosophical hard-headedness.
Music is a language that precedes and supercedes religion, nations, and all the political posturing.
Music, love, dance are all human and speak the same to all of us. When the big lizards return, they're not gonna care about the politics of hairless, naked monkeys. What we have in common is the only thing that will help us.
But, it is good sung...
And as another Israeli I find it very disturbing that you bring politics into this radio station. Yes, even if you HATE your ONLY country that much. You know, you can always leave. You don't even have to go far, just across the desert or the river or the mountains or the fence into the hands of some of the friendly countries that surround us... But i better stop now.
Just two more things:
1. If you want to read the translation of the lyrics, you can find it here
2. All those comments about the language are really not needed guys. You know, for Chinese people english might sound terrible and I don't wanna know what african people think about your native language. So Hebrew has a "ch" sound, like the arab and the dutch and many others. So what? you spit when you say "th"

Stop kidding, Russ...!!!!! You are better than this, my mushrooming naked-ass Hotel-dancer!

Take it down a notch!
Thank you for posting sronis! Why must people get political upon hearing this song? I find this especially true since I am quite sure that a majority of posters giving this negative ratings, or worse, negative political comments, have yet to actually research the lyrics. If you give a negative rating because you do not like the song, based upon its musical merits (or lack thereof, in your opinion), so be it. But to hate because you have an issue with Israel, is, well, petty.
It seems like there is some powerful peer pressure going on . If a citizen can't express his feeling uncomfortable about his country's foriegn policy it hardly reflects well on his country's belief in democracy.

The song was eh.
But if we want to get into politics, why doesn't Israel learn to stand on its own feet instead of using lobbyists to draw American tax payer's dollars to prop them up.

Remember, it's listener supported.
Ttzzzzz...
Haunting, yes . . . and poignant, and comforting. Amazing how much emotion a singer can convey even when the listener doesn't understand the words.
I don't speak a word of Hebrew, but I could listen to this all day.

It is terrifically sung. Y'know, the rest of y'all oughta get out of your occidental comfort zones (I mean really, lmic ?!). Hebrew, an oriental language, has different pronunciation values. Eh, so what? It's a beautiful song.
But, it is good sung...
I salute a sensitive Israeli!
The CD is very good, though I don't understand the lyrics. I hope they have a message of peace.
But, it is good sung...
Stop thinking that.

SUCH A SILLY COMMENT FROM A NARROW MINDED COUCH POTATO. IT IS JUST HEBREW
Ever eat putrefied shark? Well from what I understand it tastes as bad as it smells, yet some people like it quite a bit after it's sat under a heavy load of gravel for a few weeks. If ya accept that but aren't going to eat it you're not a narrow minded couch potato, you just know what you like.
intolerance
Or maybe people don't find the sound appealing.
One of the extremely few songs I really wish Bill would take out of rotation.

I was just clearing my throat...
But it does make me want to clear my throat.
I watched a couple of documentaries recently on "Bronze Age Collapse" It really puts the middle east as the cradle of civilization into context, makes an utter nonsense of the idea of cultural homelands, and shows us that we will always burn what we build, always.
