Memory comes when memory's old
I am never the first to know
Following the stream up North
Where do people like us float

There is room in my lap
For bruises, asses, handclaps
I will never disappear
For forever, I'll be here

Whispering
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
Morning, keep the streets empty for me

I'm laying down, eating snow
My fur is hot, my tongue is cold
On a bed of spider web
I think of how to change myself

A lot of hope in a one man tent
There's no room for innocence
Take me home before the storm
Velvet mites will keep us warm

Whispering
Morning, keep the streets empty for me

Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born

Just saw their (she's a they now) concert last night at Sydney Opera House. Fantastic concert in a great venue. Unfortunately this wasn't on the setlist...

I feel the same.  This is a great album (CD)…. Recording.
+1 for cool band name.
They are definitely one of the strangest and darkest artists I've ever encountered but absolutely intriguing.
I particularly like the woodpecker solo.

Now that we have the 'play favourites' stream on the website player, all my years of rating songs have become worthwhile.
However, this option now highlights the significant difference between a 6 (not a 'favourite') and a 7 (will be played as part of the 'favourites' stream).
When listening to the main stream, I know have to decide 'do I want to hear this song more?', if the answer is yes, then it's a 7.
I had previously rated this is a 6, but on reflection, I want to hear it more - so 7 it is!

A key point and I think similarly. At the risk of requesting for "perfection" of William et al. Ideally there would be an option to add a song to "My Favorites," or not. There are songs that are 7 or 8 overall for me but I don't want to hear more - in my Favorites list. ...like I said that is an over the top "request" and not anticipated!
A bit like Bjork but actually listenable.

I had to look to see what people were talking about, and I think it's more about her deliberately unsettling/terrifying aesthetic, not how good looking she is or isn't.

I had no idea she leaned so hard into the weird/grotesque. It's kinda great. And yeah... wouldn't want to look at some of it while eating.
I keep thinking this is Bjorn.
this track transports me to another realm, pure magic

A haunting one...
Me and a dear friend used this song for an aerial silks act back in 2020.

This singer, Karin Dreijer, has worked with Röyksopp.  She provided the vocals on the track "What Else Is There?".

awesomely good song and highly talented singer - love this

Dude was giving a fair warning tho. The imagery that went along with her followup album can be (quite fairly IMO) described as grotesque or gory. That was her intent. Bit of a middle finger to the folks who wanted her to be a pretty girl singer, I think.
Doesn't seem like she holds the pitch very well during the chorus.  Is that just for the style of the song, or is that Dreijer's sound?
 maboleth wrote:

Ugh - I just checked her images... it's not just the voice. Omg, I shouldn't have seen that.

She speaks very highly of you - I believe the sentence contained the words Misogynist and Dic&.
Wödklasse!

Bizarre... literally four minutes ago I was suddenly thinking of the song "Seven" from this same album.  And then this comes on.  I must have a telepathic connection with Bill or something.  I will say this entire album deserves a listen, especially late at night; it's a dark and trippy experience.

Dead Can Dance meets Björk? I mean that in the best way possible.

Has a 4AD kind of sound to it.

That's because it is the same vocalist -- Karin Dreijer. Also in The Knife.

No it's on the web player and Android too :-)

Web player: Switch the channel (at the top) from 'RP Main Mix' to 'My Favourites'
Android: Select the 'note' icon at the bottom and change channel there.

I also recently realised that you can change the level of what you consider a favourite in the Android settings - 7 works well for me.
She is great.  Also love her in The Knife.

Everything I have heard from this album is extraordinary.  It just struck me that this song in particular is a worthy successor of songs from the great Joy Division albums, and reaches the same heights (or depths).
Second Fever Ray song today, sweet!

I do like a good slinky occasionally.
This the reason why I listen to Radio Paradise, I hear new stuff.  I've never heard this before and instantly like it.  Fever Ray also did the theme song to Vikings, another excellent track on its own.  Fever Ray is a project name, check out The Knife, this is where they come from. {#War}
love it - so many good female singers out there

To me, other than the work being in black and white, it looks very little like any works by R. Crumb.  For one thing, it appears to be mimicking the look of a woodcut or scratchboard, not a work of fine-line pen and ink as Crumb has predominantly done, also, the use of solid black is much more dense than in Crumb's work, which is generally all done with cross-hatching. . . .
