There's no need for introductions
No dark corridors of fame
You'll find your fortune
You might find some pain
I wanna lie, lie together
Feels like our last embrace
In a world full of confusion
Yeah, human race

But I'd rather be here than be anywhere
Is there anywhere better than here?
You know, these feelings I've found, they are, oh, so rare
Is there anywhere better than here?

Sometimes life seems to tear us apart
Don't wanna let you go
Sometimes these feelings hit me, I start to cry
'Cause I won't ever let you go

My, my, my, my, we're multiplying
Always living under some cloud
Always on the eve of destruction
Make you wanna scream out loud
And as I watch the birds soar
My lives in which it spun
Oh, my, my, my, my, why am I still crying?
Oh, another day has come

But I'd rather be here than be anywhere
Is there anywhere better than here?
You know, these feelings I've found, they are, oh, so rare
Is there anywhere better than here?

Sometimes life seems to tear us apart
Don't wanna let you go
Sometimes these feelings hit me, I start to cry
'Cause I won't ever let you go

But I'd rather be here than be anywhere
Is there anywhere better than here?
You know, these feelings I've found, they are, oh, so rare
Is there anywhere better than here?
But I'd rather be here than be anywhere
Is there anywhere better than here?
You know, these feelings I've found, they are, oh, so rare
Is there anywhere better than here?

Sometimes these feelings hits me
Sometimes these feelings hits me
These feelings are, oh, so rare

Okay, I finally gave in and increased my vote from 9 to 10. It keeps pulling me in from what I am doing in the room and if a song is that consistent, it means I like it a lot!  It reminds me of Crowded House a great deal.

That's funny! I would never say "reminds me of Crowded House" for anything I like.

But I agree that this song consistently jerks me away from my work, for all the best reasons.

8 -> 10
Really great droning trance music
Nice
Like buttah
I adore The Verve, they are almost unrecognized on commercial radio/community radio.  Thank you for playing them!

So, once again, I find it difficult to go to bed for all of the wonderful music!  Please keep up the good vibes, I'll stay awake ........

I THOUGHT this was new to RP......I love it!  So nice to hear something besides "Bittersweet Symphony" isn't it?

I love this album.  Highly recommended.
Love the Verve.  Must say I wish he tried a little less accent when he sings considering where he is from.

These guys really have a cool, distinctive style that suits the mood of so many moments and feelings!  I'd rather be here — Rocky Mountain High — than anywhere else!  These feelings oh so rare almost anyplace else, so welcome and celebrated here!

GREAT ONE!  This album was really overlooked - several great tracks on it and worth getting. If you are a Verve fan and haven't heard it before - definitely worth picking up.

agreed 100%!!!

Meh.

The best Verve songs have always been the ones with the least melody. Not dissing Urban Hymns, which is a great album on its own terms, but relatively speaking it's the weakest of the pre-reunion albums.

Love the shear scale and ambition of this track.Never that taken with Verve so will investigate their back catalogue further any suggestions?

Urban Hymns is a must! To me, if not the best album of brit pop.
Cheers!

I agree wholeheartedly! Forth is very good too but not the best starting place with them. (This one is my upload, by the way {#Mrgreen}{#Mrgreen})
