Great to hear this gem again on RP! Mr. Isakov has been busy lately -- his brand-new album, Appaloosa Bones, is out -- it's dreamy, intimate, and typically spell-binding; such a credit to his genius and artistic gifts! He's playing up in Dillon tonight, and at Red Rocks tomorrow, then he's leaving his Starling Farm in Boulder County, (see his website for info about the amazing work and generous, beneficial things he does there) and heading off on a US and World Tour. He had me as a fan from when I first heard him here on RP, and my admiration has only grown. It's always a treat to hear his soothing, heartfelt songs, and I'm grateful and happy for him!

Bought the album based on hearing this on RP. The entire thing is great.
I had RP on in B.G. (as I always do) and thought it was a Neil Young track I'd not heard before!  Must look this guy up
I keep hearing Andrew Bird in this track. Liking it.

I'm having one of those moments this morning, and it's blissful. I subscribe to other music streams, but RP is the one I come back to to visit 'Source.' you know? 
WHY have I never heard of him? This is lovely. Reminiscent of early Ray La Montagne, or a kind of shadow box of Neil Young. Beautifully tender.

A lovely sensation, eloquently stated.......
Only time I've seen Isakov live, was about 2009, at a small venue with about two-dozen people. I fell in love with his voice and songwriting then. A fan ever since.

Can't give it more than a 4.  Some of those phrases are just too weirdly drawn out (one where he stretches the word "stray" was not good; at least I think that was the word he was singing).
All his work is simply beautiful!

I tend to like this uber-mellow fare, but I can see how it's not everyone's cup of tea. Music for the sedated by the sedated.

Awesome, Bill. Thanks for putting another song of his on your playlist. Gregory is simply amazing. He's got another album coming out soon too. Saw him in concert a few weeks ago (twice) and heard some of his new songs. I can't wait!

Fair enough, and good point. He is a bit weak on the old high register, though. 5 from the Nottingham jury.

Nice segue from Cello Song; I too think this song has a Nick Drake feel. As for the crack about his singing - give the man props for reaching for those high notes and not using auto-tune. I'd rather hear some human imperfection in a beautiful song, like this one; than hear computer generated "help" in some mindless pop drivel.

Soothing... normally this is exactly what I wouldn't like but having just come into the cool, dark cave from the ugliness outside it sounds really good.
