Down in the waves
She screams again
Roar at the door
My mind can't take much more
I could never drown
They wanna get my
They wanna get my
Gold on the ceiling
I ain't blind
Just a matter of time
Before you steal it
It's alright
Ain't no blood in my eye
Clouds covered Love's
Barbed-wired fence
Strung up, strung out
I just can't go without
I could never drown
They wanna get my
They wanna get my
Gold on the ceiling
I ain't blind
Just a matter of time
Before you steal it
It's alright

GREAT!
Jeez! How is this song 10 years old?! This was the last CD I ever bought. I remember reading some of these old comments when they were new!
EXCELLENT!!!!
Unique. Pure evolving of blues and indie rock
Drums and over driven guitar. An all male and new version of the White Stripes. Love it

I am sooooo tired of the keys, perhaps I listen to paradise toooooo much?

It's good to hear this again. At first, I thought they were saying, "Come, Holy Spirit" ... and since then I've been trying to figure what gold on the ceiling is.

I always dig some Black Keys! Thank you so much Radio Paradise for introducing them to me!
My younger boy made a video of his school trip to Russia, and used this music for sequence where he showed images of the gold leaf ceilings in the Winter Palace.

It's a bloody shame not being in Amsterdam period.
Amsterdam is meh. It is not my favourite european city by far and I visited most of them (the big ones) twice or more. Rome, Paris, Barcelona, London, Florence, Sevilla, Granada, Berlin and even an odd place like Riga are more worth a visit.

The beginning of this makes me think of the keys on Space Truckin' by Deep Purple. Tired of it, though; I'd much rather hear some old DP!
Ran here to vote this as a '1' and found I had already! Go me.

Akron boys make good. Some others to come from there, Devo and Chrissie Hynde. Must be something in the water.
Thanks...
Enough. No more. Please.
Can't help but turn the volume up on this one...
Leon Russel vocals. A little Dr. John funk. Deep Purple toxic rock buzz. What does it all mean, oh what does it all mean?
borannoying
While I like this, it literally makes my ears buzz. Don't like that buzzy thingamajig or the pedal the guitar's using.

I'd love to see a photo of that! Yep, I can see this as good conga line material, right enough. Crunchier than a bag of gravel. 9 from the head-banging Nottingham jury.
All you BK haters should see the conga line down the middle of my trailer park when this one comes on!

Hot poop
They´re playing in Amsterdam tonight and it´s a bloody shame I am not there.
Saw them in Lisbon just last week. Absolutely wonderful.

John Lee Hooker followed by the Black Keys. If something like Cream's White Room comes on next I will know you are just trying to blow my speakers.

The show in SB two nights ago was off the hook. My ears are still ringing.
Everyone of their songs sounds like an anthem... really don't care for them. Bought tickets to their Toronto show just so I could see The Shins open up then left

You can pretty much play the whole album at "11"
I'm hearing bits of "Spirit in the Sky" ... love it!
Is "Gold on the Ceiling" a euphemism for something?
Guitar sounds like the stones Sympathy for the Devil.
Party time!

I might have to go buy another box of wine!

Is anyone elses rating drop down list missing the 11?
A little less black keys in 2012 would be a great thing. Still a strong 7 but please, more of the obscure bands.
HEY MAN, u said if i sent in a big check u wouldn't play these guys anymore....what's the deal?...$16.83 was all i had at the time..it was big to me....plus that'll get u at least half of a shiitake pizza in ur neighborhood...c'mon dude!
My Earworm has been activated again.

It's pretty hard for The Keys to be "overrated" when they've pretty much been banging away doing their thing in relative obscurity for almost a decade before the mainstream rock press and programmers caught on. All I can say is congratulations to the boys for breaking through big time on their terms. It's still refreshing to see "non-manufactured" rock stars in 2012.
Ehh... I am not too fond of the Black Keys these days. Never really was, but I did enjoy Thickfreakness. I think they're pretty overrated despite the success and acclaim they've enjoyed over the past few years.

This is about as crunchy as you can get.

Best song of the year so far. 9.
Love this band... I hope this has staying power. Cause it does have power.
Watched this Duo live in Australia at the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival. Sensational !The Listener that said ' Tripe ' must have some in his ears or simply has bad taste and should find another music stream. I'd bet that Nashville is his thing !

This may have been covered on another song page. "El Camino" of course is the highway—or the road on which all bands tour eventually. The Plymouth Voyager van on the cover is their old touring van. Neat if not clever. Great tune, BTW.
Good tune, but that's obviously not an El Camino on that cover. I guess the album title refers to a literal translation of the phrase.

I like these guys but a lot of what I've heard on this album all sounds very similar.

Got my CD from Amazon yesterday. On the wrapper is a silver sticker that says, "Play Loud."

Heir apparent to ZZ Top! An 8 out of the gate for me.

It's good - I like it!
Still - I wonder if their sound lasts for another album in that style!

First time I've heard it. A solid 7. It'll grow on me, when I hear it again, it's an 8.
Sounds good, Lonely Boy is good too on this CD
Great song Bill! Thanks a bunch!!!

10 years later they're STILL rockin' our socks off.
