Woke up cold one Tuesday,
I'm looking tired and feeling quite sick.
I felt like there was something missing in my day-to-day life,
So, I quickly opened the wardrobe,
Pulled out some jeans and a t-shirt that seemed clean.
Topped it off with a pair of old shoes,
That were ripped around the seams.
And, I thought, These shoes just don't suit me.
Hey, I put some new shoes on,
And suddenly everything is right.
I said, Hey, I put some new shoes on, and everybody's smiling,
It's so inviting.
Oh, short on money,
But, long on time,
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine,
And I'm running late,
And I don't need an excuse,
'Cause I'm wearing my brand new shoes.
Woke up late one Thursday,
And, I'm seeing stars as I'm rubbing my eyes.
And, I felt like there were two days missing,
As I focused on the time.
And I made my way to the kitchen,
But, I had to stop from the shock of what I found,
A room full of all of my friends all dancing 'round and 'round,
And, I thought, Hello, New Shoes,
Bye-bye blues.
Hey, I put some new shoes on,
And suddenly everything is right.
I said, Hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling,
It's so inviting.
Oh, short on money,
But long on time,
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine,
And I'm running late,
And I don't need an excuse,
'Cause I'm wearing my brand new shoes.
Take me wanderin' through these streets,
Where bright lights and angels meet.
Stone to stone they take me on,
I'm walking 'til the break of dawn.

He seems to have been born with a voice that sounds both old and wise and yet young and almost naively idealistic... And the music he paints his earnest vibes against sure is catchy and easy to dance to! Bravo!
If you ever get a chance to see him play.
Go!
So full of energy & enthusiasm.
You felt he would have sung all night, if you let him.
Refreshing. ❤️
Please Bill add something form his latest Album. All song are great
I just love listening to this man.
It so happens I recently got some hip new shoes

Sadly, some Americans are bit naive about other cultures. Scotland has an extremely diverse, eclectic cultural mix of nationals, it is part of Great Britain after all - you know, that little island that raped and pillaged most of the large continents on the planet! Including North America! Far from proud of that fact, believe me!
Re BillG's comment: His name sounds as Scottish as Dario Franchitti (~_^)
I see Dario escaped Ashley Judd.

this song is particularly good after the 30 song string of sad cowboy shit / singer-sw dross
that always steams on this station
Still, this July day 2019.
First time heard. Thanks.

This was my mother's 'beat cancer' song a few years ago, one to go to when chemothetapy reatments were at their worst. It worked (both the song and the chemo), and this still brings a small smile to my face.
Great Song...Great Album....Great Cover !
Suddenly everything's right. :-)
Great follow up to Outa Space.
Thanks Bill!
Thanks Bill!

Heard this album this week after quite a break. Forgot just how very good it is.
Disliked his "Candy" so much I almost PSD'd when I saw the name. Very glad I didn't it. Good tune well delivered.
Old album now but just showed what a gifted young man was in the making! He's even better live!!

I thought it was old Robert Palmer at first, back in the days of "Sneaking Sally through the Alley."
Hey yeah! That's what I was thinking of...thanks.

Is this a cover of an older tune? Sounds familiar. I like Paolo.

I was sick to death of this tune about a year ago, but this is the first time I've heard it since then and it sounds fresh again, I dig it. Rockin Italian Scotsman, good stuff.
