Pull up the blinds
Open the door wide
Feel the cold arrive
In my bones
Put on my face
The way I dressed today
Feel like you tonight
On my day
Falling little more
You bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, I might as well
Melt into Sunday
Remember the time
We stood there by the lake
Watching boats and planes
Pretty white clouds
The sun will sweat
In fact the song begins
Trees are your skin
On my tongue
Falling little more
You bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, I might as well
Melt into Sunday
Pull up the blinds
Open the door wide
Feel the cold arrive
In my bones
You, me and more
We bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, we might as well
Melt into Sunday
La la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
We know you're, you're not how it seems
Don't have a point
You're not there for the stay
When I will wish you could
Wish that you were there
You could
You're dying in here
You could be here soon
You stumble on a river
Open the door wide
Feel the cold arrive
In my bones
Put on my face
The way I dressed today
Feel like you tonight
On my day
Falling little more
You bumped and crashed in dirty snow
Up to our sin, I might as well

A shame because many singers out there can belt (bel canto or can belto!), emote and produce a dynamic sound without assistance. The producer's job should be to enhance, not create.
Breathy style ?

Still can't understand why Goldfrapp haven't been asked to write a Bond tune.

Such beautifull song. So easy and peaceful voice. Didn't hear it before. Really. Great combination of voice, electronic music and ...such thing

Seems like they are playing her new stuff on the radio...unfortunately her music has ventured into a direction that no longer suits me. pontfarrer wrote:

Yes, I see now what you meant. That probably has happened more often in popular music than one would think, though I don't think it's true for this song.
It's just a fascination of mine. A lot of artists will write the melody of a song with no words at all, just all "oh blah di oh blah dah" and put real words in later. I like to imagine when you hear a "la chorus" as I call them that the artist just couldn't come up with any more lyrics and said "fuck it, it's fine as is, tra la la".

I like it but I keep thinking of "Rosemary's Baby" when I hear it.
"quintessentially"… I had to look up this word

Such a nice melody for this morning. It is just this type of song that helped me start and enjoy my work day.

I like it OK for first listen. Like other, older Goldfrapp better. May bump it up on next hearing.

I can hear that a bit - in the "la-la-la" parts. The vocals on "Annabel" from this album remind me of Krzysztof Komeda's soundtrack as well in some parts. It's a cool sound - she does a good job with her voice. I think it was actually Mia Farrow doing the vocals on the "Rosemary's Baby" soundtrack; I still have that album...somewhere.
Reminds me a little bit of rosemary's baby lullaby.

Nice. Very nice. and fades into Nights in White Satin. Merry Christmas y'all.
She's a master of setting atmosphere! Her voice is lovely, the music superb. Her breathy style and timing can bring on such a swoon...
Nice
I like the song overall but the breathy whisper started to bug me.

Listening to Goldfrapp is like commiting to taking a bath. You prepare the environment, gather your accessories and immerse yourself. No rush, no expectations, take your time. You inevitably emerge restored and refreshed. Except in her case, you still feel a little dirty!

A hummingbird tasting the nectar of a flower in bloom
My friend saying goodbye at the train station
My friends saying hello after a long while
My two angels carrying me while saying
" do not look back! " " never look back "
The happiness of the guy who picked up my sad clothes
All the brothers left behind
All the brothers ahead needing help
