Because when you do
Go against nature it's part of nature too
Our little lives get complicated
It's a simple thing
Simple as a flower and the complicated thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
My world is your world
People want to hear their names
I'm not exception
Please call my name
Call my name
Call my name
(Yeah, Oooh)
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
When you're down
It's a long way up
When you're up
It's a long way down
It's all the same thing
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
No new tale to tell
A simple song in many respects, but I remember being blown away by it back in high school when it came out. And 34 years later, I still think it is a great song. And WOW, I always thought the flute solo was oddly similar to Ian Anderson,,,,,and if I ever bothered to look it up, I would have known why! Thanks Bill for pouting that fact out.
That is called musical influence. JT
They're opening for Jane's Addiction - on tour now. Psyched to see both amazing bands this September in Chicago!
Need I say how disappointed I am, and upset, with Mr. Farrell?! Event was not to be. He's still an adolescent, sadly - no new tale to tell! ;)

got to listen to some bauhaus now of course

I love that you play LOVE ‘n ROCKETS!
RIP to the Brit-Punk 80’s!
When did they hire Ian Anderson for the flute solo? And I disagree they don't suck..they are just "different", ok?
I once read that they didn´t hire him. The article mentioned Ash saying that was "a family affair"...whatever that means.
SMELLS LIKE NIRVANA
How? What does Nirvana smell like? ...eh?
Oddly enough, yes. It is.
That's my oracle!
"This is new Jethro Tull"
one flute solo does not a Jethro Tull song make
Oddly enough, yes. It is.
In what way?
Yeah. No.
Or a bugger in the cake.
fuggin rubbish.
At about the midpoint I remembered why.
Last comment six years ago?! I haven't heard this here til now, and I say "Oh yeah! This song! I haven't heard this in years!" and I can't figure out why!

Because when you do
Go against nature
It's part of nature too"
All very recursive and circular, and in the end just meaningless because by definition anything done in the natural world is by definition natural, including toxic waste dumps. It conflates two meanings of the word 'nature', one 'everyday' and one scientific. Not that you expect a philosophical treatise from song lyrics, but the banality and meaninglessness of the above grated right from the start, then the song kicked in and that was just as bad. An easy Ho-Hum from the Nottingham jury.
..so basically, there's no new tale to tell..i think i get it!..
..dug these guys in the 80s after they emerged out of Bauhaus and continue to..
Believe it or not! I thought about both bands, while listening,
but before reading you!
PERFECTLY TRUE COMMENT (though more Warhols than Anderson)
though the album is from '87. Mister Taylor Taylor-Taylor was still a boy-scount back then!

I love this song, but much better by the Tull.

Kundalini Express... Great memory - always was their masterpiece.
Yes, please! Many great tunes to pick from off that record!

Give it a 7, for now.
Sure! If you are tone deaf.

Stop attacking our romeotuma. He's the benign cosmic beautific dreamer who loves all music. I wish we could all find the good in things the way he does.
I'd love to hear this by the original artists, though... Not thrilled with Love and Rockets.

This song is good for the ears...

Hokaaaaayyyyyy.... I thought that was him in there

A combination of Jethro Tull and Alice Cooper School's Out vibe.
But in the end, not good.
Reckon this is towards the front of the Show Of Hands record collection...and I mean that in an extremely good way.

Is that Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) on the flute!
I wondered that too, but no. It's Mel Thorpe.
