I'd rather hear something from the studio US album - 'love to be loved' or 'only us'. This version of 'kiss that frog' is kind of bland.

Is ANY man above singing that? I don't think that's possible. Not trying to start a gender war, just saying . . .

I enjoy Peter's world-flavored stuff, but this is a bit too "canned". I (and he) cold certainly do without those backup singers. Ugh. 4.
I will say this about PG, he certainly has a wide range of music
... and it just got worse
terrible
not his best effort
Ah Paradise you send me

Best. Song. Ever. About giving blow-jobs :D Not a great version of the song, though.
Best. Segue. Ever. Just Like Heaven to this!!
I've never heard this song before and the group that came to mind when I was trying to figure out who it was by is Wham!
what the hell is this ... and why wont it stop?
This song should have its own 80's movie. I imagine this as a song form the movie Mannequin or some Breakfast Club'ish movie.

Yeah, but it's guaranteed!

obnoxious
I haven't heard this song in 13 years... why'd they have to go and ruin a good thing...

Family Guy "lets go to the hop..." ____________________________ So there is Kiss that frog. The greatest hits album was called "shaking the tree". Are there a whole list of gabriel tunes with this type title that create a dance called the "Pete Gabriel Jive"? Just curious.
I like loads of Gabriel songs. Never much liked the original of this and the Live version does nothing to improve it.
i was soooo scared to come here and see all the PG freaks fawning over this song. I'm delightfully surprised to see that most of the PG freaks don't like this song either!
Personally I've never rated a PG song under 8 on here until now. And this is a 3.
check yer watches, it's been how long since a gabriel tune?
A lot of PG is godlike. This...not so much.
I like Peter Gabriel. But this just sounds like a reworking of all the same musical ideas in Sledgehammer.
He really goes off the deep end sometimes.
Hahaha, pretty funny when Peter Gabriel comes on. I like his music, but I think it's been established that he's overplayed here. Funny to read people's song reviews..
I like PG, but this is execrable.

I really dislike most of his stuff also.
Wow you couldn't be more wrong. Have you ever been to one of his live shows, or just seen it on TV? His live shows are amazing Secret World Live is one of his best "albums". I prefer listening to this over "Us" and "So" (and I adore both of those). Especially Paula Cole's voice on backgrounds instead of (ugh) Kate Bush.
Saw a bit of PG Llve in concert on the tube. It looked rather forced and just not that great. I agree with the one poster...better at studio work. Besides, he has not aged as well as some rockers...

Am I the only one that doesn't like Peter Gabriel?
one of my least favorite PG songs. let's can this track, yes?

I second that.
why all this peter gabriel's songs taken by the secret world tour?.... pleeeease Bill more original versions!
ribbit
If there was ever a song never to hear again from Peter, this would be it.

Best put an advisory warning on performing acts such as kissing frogs.
Being French Canadian, I would have to agree with Mr. Gabriel on this one....yes, kiss this frog!

Some frogs can cause you to trip when you lick them. I hear they are plentiful in Australia-gotta go there some day.
OK,now--This is the first time I've ever heard this song and I thought it was George Michael.
I think he wrote this after he met Andrew Lloyd Weber

This might be the 1st PG that I've rated below 8. I hope I never hear Big or Sledgehammer on here.
What the hell, let's bring a whole Dancing Banana Kick Line !

Yes, but who could fault you if you did?
This is a good reason to bring forth the dancing banana:
Love the studio, and now the live version, too!
Toss a plugged-in appliance into the water while you are at it. This is not a very good PG song, IMHO. He's done much better.

As a formerly huge PG fan, I have to say, his live work just doesn't match the beauty of his studio pieces. For me, his work isn't about the energy of a live act. It's more about the beautiful tapestry of all those incredible sounds, mixed together flawlessly in the studio.
From what I've heard, PG is a great live act. I've heard he's able to add so much more to what you hear on the CD. And his live stuff sounds much better. And no, I'm not being contrary because you are from Ann Arbor.

How many times can Peter Gabriel get away with re-recording "Sledgehammer"? (I know the title says "Kiss that frog", but I am not fooled that easily!)
You are right. Never liked Sledgehammer much anyway, and I generally like Peter Gabriel. This is bad.

I'm stunned. Peter is mortal. (I'm putting down my headphones for a few minutes.)

For a moment I heard the words "kiss that frog" and thought it was a reference to Crazy Frog... Dingdingding powpowpow brrrrrrnnggggg peeeeowwww... ...fortunately, it turns out to be Peter Gabriel.

I love live music, but the studio version of this is better...
Just because I like Peter Gabriel doesn't mean he's invincible. Shame on you, Carpet Crawler Peter.

Yuck. I like the Us version much, much better.

...or is that a snake?
woah, last comment's from 2002...good stuff though, the music video's amusing since it was a ride-film apparently.
PGs live versions of his own songs are often very different from the studio versions, and often as good or better. I like this version.
A variation on Sledge-hammer, but not at all as catchy, I think.
