Professor of Rock (youtuber) did a nice interview with Edgar about this song. Worth the time to watch, see link below. Like a lot of others, I absolutely wore this album and this song out on our 50's tube amped Hi-Fi. it was mono but had massive woofers and midrange. It would rattle the windows, which I did at every opportunity.

That album cover is stunning!
Saw Edgar Winter’s White Trash performing this when it was new at the Dario Palace in Providence—fantastic show! This song became *the* quadraphonic test to play at all of the Hi-Fi stores while that craze lasted.
If you have a 5.1 set-up - check out the Quad version - especially the break near the end. You can found a boot-leg DTS CD torrent somewhere.

Awesome music. This was originally the back side of their first single "Hangin' Around". An edited "Frankenstein" then became an edited 'A' side. Johnny Winter was his older brother and they often performed and recorded together but not on this. Cheers.

Adventures in rock & roll — My wife & I went to Phish's Clifford Ball (their first huge ass festival) in 1995. While we were setting up our tent, Mike Gordon (Phish's amazing bass player) zoomed by us in a golf cart just about rolling over my foot. He got a bit past us and I yelled "Hey Mike!" He turned around and I yelled "FRANKENSTEIN!" and gave him devil horns. He chuckled at me and went on. Encore that night — Frankenstein! Thanks Mike!

Montrose plays on this album, but nearly all of the guitar work you hear on this track is Rick Derringer. A couple of good videos of them playing it can be found on YouTube.

Saw Johnny and Edgar play this in a ten minute+ jam in concert. Edgar was dressed in a beat-up tuxedo with top hat, and he played a kettle drum the size of a hot tub. What a show!

What a relief...segueing from Martyn Bennett's "Move".
Back when this was popular, a friend and I went to the Home Show at the Milwaukee Coliseum. They were playing this song on an endless loop over some KLH tower speakers. The sound was amazing and did a good job of projecting throughout the whole arena.
As a young teenager I got invited to a "retreat" with some church kids. I got stuck in a room with some other non-regulars next to the room with the sound equipment guys, who had DJ'ed the dance the Saturday night dance. Early on Sunday morning they quietly moved the speaker towers inside the door of our room and blasted this song to wake us up. Great song, bad memory of it.
