disappointing from JJ - weak lyrics

agree as to the lyrics but his guitar is still magical. It's disppointing there isn't more of it on this track. Overall, a woebegone effort.

Didn't Moby cover this, or sample it? If he didn't he should.
This sounds remarkably like "Bridge to Nowhere" by Sam Roberts (also heard here before). Something tells me this guy was around first.

Because of the painfully obvious canned drums. Are the horns canned too? Sounds like it. That piano is definitely of the ersatz variety as well. Blech.
Yeah, it sounds like every bit of sound in that studio (minus the voice) is coming from a Casio keyboard. Ugh. 1.
I'm a huge JJ-fan, but this is VERY minor stuff

Love this, own it, always good to hear JJ Cale!!!!!!
this one's a real foot tapper. really like this upbeat version.
JJ - Not played enough - never has been - never will. Life's loss.

I love Leonard Cohen, but yeah.
decent music and production, bad voice

totally disagree - I have yet to hear a cohen cover that even attempts the irony that is so essential to almost all of his tunes, much less pulls if off

Any JJ Cale, anytime at all.
Ditto!
Hey how 'bout Los Lobos' "Chains of Love"?
sax is cool
I love JJ Cale... and this is a great song. Thanks leslie for the honest review. may wait to purchase it.
Any JJ Cale, anytime at all.
I just bought this CD and though most of the music is pretty good I'm a little disappointed in the production. It seems JJ's vocals are often overwhelmed by the instruments. That's not the case in this song however.
