I'm falling harder than I've ever fell before
I'm falling fast while hoping I'll land in your arms
'Cause all my time is spent here
Longing to belong to you

I dream of circles, perfect eyes within your face
My heart's an open wound that only you'd replace
And though the moon is rising
Can't put your picture down
Love can be frightening when you fall

And when the time is right, I hope that you'll respond
Like when the wind gets tired, the ocean becomes calm
I may be dreaming
But I'm longing to belong to you

Is the verse in a different key for the voice than it is for the uke?

Eddie has an interesting voice whose limits make it OK to hear for about three minutes at a time. Unfortunately, most rock songs (or their ukulele equivalents) last at least four.

Without Eddie's celebrity, this song wouldn't deserve airplay.

Yea because rock songs are all about the perfect voice.

As a teenage ukulele player in a folk group, The Ukuleers, it warms my heart to hear this. As an adult editor, however, did they really misspell ukulele in the album title?

The album cover has it spelled the same way you have it spelled.
Stick to R&R Eddie.
Love the uke and the voice.  Thanks for playing this Bill.

It's the Year of the Uke! His singing has a built-in fanbase

but holds no attraction for me. Promoting ukelele, however, is a fine thing!

You're awesome!{#Lol} Good song, terrible singer.

Some music seeps in slowly. This is my first listen to this, but something tells me that it has a quality that takes a few listens to register.
Just my opinion.

I agree a few listens are definitely necessary, but I have a good feeling that the limit to the total number of times I can hear a song with a Ukulele , will be very limited.

Finally a song of his I actually like! {#Music}
He's coming to Santa Barbara in July...question is, do I want to sit through several songs of him playing the ukulele?
Not knocking the actual song itself (I thankfully missed it) but the title represents everything that was wrong with the '90s and the reason why Gen Xers are now becoming such a lucrative market for psychologists.
Interesting concept.  Music sounds nice and his voice is always a pleasure...but I can't decide on this first hearing whether it really works or not.
I'll give it a few listens.  Would appreciate hearing more songs from the record as well.  Give the man credit for trying new things.  His voice is warm and comforting and imperfect and I don't mind any of it.

Wow something from Eddie Vedder I don't need to hit mute on.

This is rather nice.

Tend to agree, oldviolin..

Well, I was quite curious about this new Uke Eddie Vedder venture, but... blah. Voice sounds uneven and sort of strained, and doesn't really go with the tune of the uke. Considering I'm a Vedder fan, really enjoyed his work on Into the Wild, as well as Pearl Jam of course, along with Temple of the Dog, and well... this song just doesn't do it for me. Especially surprising to me since I'm generally into his mellower work more than the rockin' high intensity stuff. All that being said I'll check out another track or two before giving it a total pass.

Great concept
Hmm. Nothing distasteful about it. Sounds a lot like his work on that movie. Has he mellowed?
