Well, I've moved ALL my domains to GoDaddy, and am slowly moving over the hosting as well. The process has been twisted, convoluted and ridiculously time consuming (mostly due to old ISP)... but GoDaddy has live, informed support personnell available on the phone 24/7... which is way better than anyone else I've ever worked with! I still have one domain that got screwed up... so one of my sites is down. I'm on hold with GoDaddy now while they try to figure it out. GoDaddy plays Squirrel Nut Zippers while you're on hold I've heard this whole album about 4 times now.

We've used VisionHead in the past - but their response when we had problems was sad. Now we're using HostMonster - which seems MUCH more stable. We're not doing anything fancy out there, but hobbitt's sister is running her business there via a sub-domain on our account.

GoDaddy is a nightmare to navigate their site unless you do it every stinkin' day. You would think someone in the business would have a logical website but I just get in loop after loop and wind up back at the main page every 5th click... but if I think of it like a video game and remember to click here THEN here THEN here I get where I want to go but if I click THERE then THERE even though it looks like the same link, I wind up in the desert riding a dairy cow. But the price is pretty good and if you want to do something tricky, most things are possible. Can't (or couldn't last time I tried) post Apple iCal data there for others to subscribe to but google pretty much wiped that need out. And last time I was doing something on there they offered me the highly coveted scottlarsen.name domain for free so I took it. I should do something with that.

It's too bad no one has a consistently good reputation. I've used the telephone support many times with Powweb and it's been fast and good. Go figure.

I do a lot of web design and web hosting, and I'd like to get some input on what web hosts you have used.
I've been recommending GoDaddy to most of my clients... because they're cheap and they have superb customer service. But their website and upsell tactics are AWFUL.
My current local web host company that I've been using for 12 years has changed hands and become very unreliable. So, I gotta find someplace solid and excellent and reliable with near perfect email performance. I've got some pretty important web stuff to move.
