To my friends and colleagues still serving in the Israeli Secret Service,

For months I have watched you walk the streets with masks on your faces, hiding your identities not from terrorists, but from your own people. You know, as I know, why this is necessary: because even the Israeli legal system recognizes the risk you take when you continue to protect a man who has become a wanted war criminal.

I say this not as an outsider. I once stood where you stand. I once had the honor of leading the detail charged with protecting heads of state, including Netanyahu himself. I did it with pride, believing I was safeguarding our nation and our democracy. But times have changed. And so has the man you now protect.

You are not without choice. Unlike mandatory service, your role is voluntary. With that freedom comes responsibility, the responsibility to resign when duty no longer serves the values you swore to uphold. No law, no contract, and no “order from above” can excuse you from the moral and legal burden of shielding a man who has dragged Israel into the abyss of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

History has already taught us, in the harshest and most painful ways, what happens when people blindly follow orders and abandon their values. “I was only doing my job” is no shield! not in courts of law, and not in the eyes of history. Each of you knows this truth. Each of you has seen how our nation has judged others who tried to hide behind that excuse.

As a proud Israeli, I tell you plainly: today, by protecting Netanyahu, you are not protecting Israel. You are not protecting Zionism. You are not protecting our people. You are protecting war crimes. And every day you remain in that service, you stray further from the oath you swore to the people of Israel.

My call to you is not born of anger, but of loyalty, loyalty to Israel, to the values we were raised on, and to the oath we swore to protect the people, not the man. Netanyahu is not Israel. Netanyahu is not Zionism. Netanyahu is a dangerous criminal.

You can choose today. To step away. To resign. To reclaim your honor, your integrity, and your place on the right side of history.
Israel will survive Netanyahu. The question is: will you survive the stain of protecting him? Or will you go down with him, as he faces trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity?
