...or if it's an infield fly hit by a designated pinch-hitter outside the 3 point line, which counts as a touchback, which can be appealed to the instant replay ref for being after the 20 second shot clock, which counts as offsides, or icing if it's north of the equator.

Why is a foul ball a strike, but not a strike if you have two strikes?
As rgio mentioned: for the pitchers' ball-to-strike counts, a "strike" is recorded for the pitcher for every foul ball a batter hits, regardless of the count. It is obviously not a "third" strike for the batter.

I think it goes back to that whole how hard it is to hit a round ball with a round bat thing...The game would be so one sided for the pitchers that it would have lost its appeal long ago...Just my two cents but I've been wrong before.

Yep. Although I only learned last year or so that pepperoni is a relatively new / fully American concoction.
Good thing they got here a while ago... the next administration would have deported them.
Had that happened, maybe we'd be putting Slim Jim slices on pizza, which thankfully has its Jewish roots right here in Philly!
Speaking of Philly and pizza... I had a slice of Cheesesteak Pizza last night that was pretty damn good...even with the cheese whiz. How bad can hot dog be... especially if the slices are thin enough to turn crispy?
For homework... I think you should give it a whirl. Take pictures.
