Bernie Parent - This one is a lot closer to home.

Bernie was a god in Philly when I was little.  He is one of the reasons I played organized ice hockey as a kid instead of basketball or swimming.   In a very odd twist...Bernie was the coach of my high school team my freshman year.  In reality, his son did most of the heavy lifting, but Bernie would show up for some practices and throw on the goalie skates in street clothes.  It was pretty cool.

He was out and about in town last week, meeting and talking with people.  Very outgoing to the very end.  RIP Bernie.

Two of the greats who played in the ‘70’s. And one of them cost the Bruins a Stanley Cup. A one Ken Dryden.

I was a kid when the Broad Street Bullies took over Philly in the early 70s....and these guys were always in the way.  RIP gentlemen.
