The average sound quality of RP seems to have got a lot worse since the changes. From what I can see, the cause is hard limiting. Either a high proportion of recently added tracks are really bad, or something nasty is happening between original track and server. I used to listen to RP streams for hours, but now I find it's not long before I switch to better-sounding sources just to give my ears a rest.
IOS version 9.2 just arrived on the App Store four hours ago. It has added the ability to access downloads from the main CarPlay screen. Thanks, RP. To be safe, I logged out of the RP App, logged back in and restarted my phone then re-added some download cache. After that all worked fine. This makes my RP experience now perfect.
Mine still does not show how much time or how many songs are left in downloaded content.

This is weird. Listening through the website on Firefox and the left hand column says Brian Reitzel is playing. Middle column says Jeff Tweedy is playing. But the music coming out is neither of those. Wen I check in on Safari it shows and is playing Louis Armstrong,Skokiaan.... 9:23am EST 4/19/23
I have a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet (in addition to several Apple devices). The Surface runs Windows 10 and has a version of RP dated 2013 installed. This version of the app doesn't have the ability to select channels ( the default is the Main Mix which I think was the only option available in 2013). Are there any plans to update the Windows app? I realize I can access the full slate of channels through the Web site, but thought I would inquire anyway.
Just updated app to 9.1.1161, now just shows a black screen. iPhone 12, iOS 18.7.2.
4th time was a charm for me bluesbop. I am running ios 26.4.1 on i17 with RP 9.9.1161. Removed app and deleted RP info, rebooted phone and reinstalled, and then did it three more times. On the fourth time the Black Screen of Death was vanquished, music playing and sanity stabilizing. The ios 26.4.1 update seems quirky which can't help. RP interface seems to be working well now. Just updated app to 9.1.1161, now just shows a black screen. iPhone 12, iOS 18.7.2.
Has anyone come up with a work around to help Bluesbop?
I am running 9.1.1161 on an i17 with ios 26.4.1 and have the same Black Screen of Death when I try to open app. Removing and downloading again makes no difference.
My iPhone just lost its greatest purpose. Preserve my sanity by listening to a downloaded selection from my 5000+ RP favorites. And its second most important use, discovering new music. It's like losing a close friend suddenly.
It doesn't sound like deleting all your RP data is bringing much joy to anyone either. I should have read current reviews before updating. This looks like it has been going on for quite a while.
Anyone know a safe way to download the old version from icloud? Sanity quavering.

This is a bit awkward since it involves four steps to play the downloaded material from the phone. Is it possible to add a choice to play download material on the CarPlay app in a future update?

Feature Request here - actually kind of a 'return of the feature' request.
A couple or three site generations ago there was a feature that showed 'New on Radio Paradise' music (Main Mix). Displayed new albums/releases in rotation and from there you could dig in to see the songs being played from that album, and also get to all the music RP played by the artist.
That was my main music discovery approach for several years and I really miss it.
If that sort of feature isn't possible in the new era, has anyone figured out a way to simulate finding 'new to RP' music, by channel or otherwise?
That might be kind of hard right now, as RP is undergoing a revolution. We could bring that up again, when no 1 is finished. I know what you mean. However, mankind has tripled in numbers during our lifetime. So has the musical quantity. To pic quality from these gigantic gazillion musical examples CAN STILL be done by humans.
