PS. if you want to go for as few iterations as possible, steam is the best first choice. briny gets the br consonant pairing which is quite common and also the y ending could gets the last two vowels and a couple of other useful consonants. There's not much left after that.
That's why you might consider playing in hard mode. Once you "get" a letter, you have to use it, eliminating the option of listing 2 words to "cover" the vowels, get another letter or two, and figure it out. You have to set hard before starting...but it carries over once set.

I'm averaging 4 or 5 out of 6, though I did get a 2 one time.

It's one game per 24 hours; starts at midnight my time so probably starts at midnight everywhere.

Did the same thing as SFW (with one additional try on my part), only with a completely different "likely option" - oh, and I did start with "adieu" but I can see that as being problematic if it ends up being a word with two duplicate vowels.
