I suppose that I'm a hopeless romantic of sorts, but I am very glad that I got to see them for their last tour.
Even in the face of all the options and opinions listed below. It was a very, very good show.
Nostalgic, loud, rockin', bitter-sweet, and not exactly as I had imagined, but completely wonderful none-the-less.
Genesis was/is such a huge part of my personal musical journey through this life.

From a fan who is still quite awe-struck by your collective musical brilliance!

Thank you Phil, Tony and Mike.
(And to all the past members who added their own beautiful hues to that brilliance...

Nice that Gabriel showed for the very last show. But I want to know if Ray Wilson was there!

Frail Phil Collins stands with Genesis bandmates as iconic band play FINAL ever concert

Phil Collins bade an emotional farewell to Genesis fans alongside bandmates Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks in London on Saturday - as the iconic band played their final ever concert. London's 02 provided the backdrop for the band's last show on their The Last Domino? Tour - with frail frontman Phil, 71, telling the crowd he will now have to get a real job.

Genesis has been arguably my favorite band since I was about 10 (older brother and sister).   I've seen them a dozen or so times over the years, but never with Peter Gabriel (who i've seen a dozen+ times solo).   I don't really think much about Hackett or  Phillips or for that matter even Rutherford when I think of the band.  Gabriel, Collins and Banks are Genesis to me. So their music is now roughly 50 years old, meaning the band members are roughly 70+.  The current options for seeing their music are Phil Collins from a chair with a weak voice and what looks to be very rough timing (tragic, given his drumming abilities), a cover band sounding a lot like the original band with the lead guitarist for the first half-dozen albums, or the Tribute band who's been at if for decades now...down to Gabriel's shaved head.  Which do you go see if you had one choice?
For me...I'd go see The Musical Box.

i'd go see the version with manbird playing the theremin and ov on the harp
and i'd sell your favorite boots to get front row tickets

Based on the dates found here: http://www.hackettsongs.com/to...
We may have to count on our Swedish friends to answer that question.
(He is calling this tour: "Genesis Revisited")

Both of our phones are old android, mine a 3G which goes dead in February next year.  We only take them online with WiFi so there is that, too.  Can't trust them enough for something like this.  Sigh.

For better or worse - I think this is the way that all these things are going. I used ticketmaster.  They generate a sort of animated bar-code thingy, so that you can't just do a screen-shot. But as someone stated below - they have way of saving it to a wallet of sorts. You can even share or sell your tickets to someone else by linking to them through the app.  It's a brave new scary, interconnected world...

I've used a few different apps for ticket apps, and they are honestly pretty easy.  If you have an iPhone, you can usually save the tickets to your "wallet" for easy retrieval.   I went to a college football game the other week where they used the near-field communication to scan the tickets without a UPC / QR code showing....it was strange. So long as you're comfortable with your phone, and have a pretty good battery (so you don't have to worry about it dying on you)...I wouldn't let a bit of technology stop you. I'm not sure if you saw the reviews from Chicago the other night?  Here's one with some video.

It was a Genesis show.
It totally rocked.
I am so happy that I went.
Turns out that Phil's kid is a real drummer. (IMO - totally kept the feel of Phil's drumming style without completely mimicking it.)
If they are coming to your town, and you love Genesis - go.
This review says it better than I can.
The reviewer attended the same show I was at.

I wasn't excited before...this didn't change anything.  I appreciate that cell phone recorded sound is never good, but there are a few cringy parts to that song (one that I wouldn't want to see live anyway).  I prefer to remember him singing the Musical Box or Supper's Ready from Seconds Out

Sadly, by the time they are on tour in the US that video will be pushing 3 years old.  Father time remains undefeated.

I agree 100% with you. And we will be seeing more and more groups we loved when we were young trying to recapture what they once were. It’s sad you know. Just got to love my vinyl all that much more.
