Good article on why CarPlay is an essential function for rental cars. More car renters are now requesting non GM vehicles.  Also applies to your guests using your car.

I used to tell everybody how great Radio Paradise is. Now the conversation has turned to how Radio Paradise destroyed themselves. So, I’m withholding contributions until CarPlay functionality is added back into the IOS app. When, and if, that happens I pledge to contribute $100

I'm sorry, but I can't really see anything to commend the new app; and the deletion of carplay is very difficult to live with. I would very much like you to revert to the old app, which worked or restore carplay functionality as before. I say this as someone who has regularly supported you for several years...

Streams that have the metadata, like RP, show the title, artist, and album art just like normal. But also include a click through to the song in Apple Music as well. The Shazam integration is only for streams without metadata.

No option for TuneIn here in the UK, because of that spat they had with you, so I relied on the native carplay capability in the app.  I will continue to make my annual contribution to RP, but like someone else suggested, if you want to launch a paid app to cover reinstating the functionality the old app had, then I would be in for that.
