Canada had many more shots on goal (42-28); Hellebuyck did a heck of a job.
As they used to say.... Hellebuyck "stood on his head". The Canadians had 7 or 8 of the best 10 players on the ice today... but that's why they play the game.
I hitchhiked to Tumbler Ridge in late 1982 looking for work when unemployment rates in western Canada were double digit thanks to the Paul Volker US Federal Reserve tight monetary policy designed to tame runaway inflation coming out of the Great Society and Vietnam War period. No luck. Ended up working at a bakery in Nelson, BC starting 1:30AM, about 4 hours after I got out of my of typing class in Slocan City. Earlier that year, I was fired by the UFWA, AFL-CIO in LA for asking too many questions. Not a biggie; the UFWA had fired lots of white volunteers and salaried staff who were far more important to the organization than I was.
The shooter was female, she had mental health issues and the household had been visited by the RCMP for disturbances and guns. Whether this sad situation could have been avoided will take a while to sort out.
Canada already has highly-restrictive gun control legislation so more legal restrictions would not be the answer.
I was trying to find a way to describe what you just said (bolded) but couldn't find the right words. You said it well. I deleted my post because, well, sometimes I talk more than I should.
Not sure where your comment went, Lee...I was shocked to see that they think the shooter was female as well...Glad your daughter was far away, but it is still too close for sure. So tragic that a life can spin so far out of control that this becomes their solution.

You folks have it all wrong. I LOVE President Trump! And so should you.
No other single individual has done so much for Canadian nationalism, unity and sense of purpose in my lifetime. He is truly a great hero. I motion that Canada builds monuments to President Trump in all of the provinces and territories.
