Total Eclipse 2024; I'm planning a route thru OKC, the Guthrie Center, and another friend's place in Arcadia, then down to my cousin's in Austin and then to somewhere like the Buchanan Dam reservoir north of Austin for lake fun and eclipse.
You & I both live close to the Appalachian Trail. If I start walking now I could be there in a couple of months. Not the best time of year to take that on.
This one is made from maraschino cherries, and I designed the bottle. Not single handedly, but I did all the "hands on" work. I still haven't tried the product but knowing the owner of the company I'm sure it's good.

Do you think I can remember which was the good one? I cannot. But there's most of a fifth of this one in our cabinet now.
Yeah I realise it doesn't use vermouth. It's not surprising that Amero vary so much when they mostly started as family recipes and whatever was available to throw in.
I do like Averna, though so maybe I'll try next time I grab a bottle.

That sounds really good! Most things like this seem to lean way too heavily on the anise. I have a cabinet full of anise-flavored nonsense. Absinthe, ouzo, Pernod, probably more.

I just used "regular" sweet vermouth, bourbon and black walnut bitters.
Don't think I've tried that one. I usually keep quiet around cocktail geeks but I'm not a big Manhattan fan. Mainly because I'm not a big vermouth fan
