Looking at it closely myself, I see that too, D. But, as you said, STILL the (supposedly) intelligent creatures were entirely too close to the dangerous, wild animal in its own habitat!

After reading your post, I looked again. My new take: yes, the bison flipped the stick in the air, but the head shake that tossed it up was because the bison was already agitated about Mr. Dipstick coming through the trees so close by.

So it looks as if he startled himself. Still, the humans were WAY too close to that animal.
